The Parsonsburg Library had its ribbon-cutting on Wednesday. This project has been especially meaningful for me, as I consider libraries to be our most important civic buildings. I think you can judge the health of a community by the health of its library system, and by that measure Executive Director Seth Hershberger has been very good for the area. At the project kick-off, the head librarian, Kerry O'Donnel, said her goal was for the building to feel like home to her patrons. While there were other ideas in the development of the building, like maintaining a residential scale but also a civic presence, making sure it was comfortable and welcoming remained the priority.
