pproach, the Eisenmann team focuses its expertise on fulfilling our clients’ aspirations. Stacy Eisenmann received her Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech's College of Architecture and Urban Studies, a program based on Bauhaus principals. After completing her own award-winning home in 2005, Stacy launched Eisenmann Architecture with the commitment to help others successfully navigate the process of changing the way they live. Her approach guides clients through the design as partners resulting in architectural languages that can vary significantly between projects. Stacy has served her community as a member of Albany's Planning and Zoning commission, as a member of the American Institute of Architects, and as a contributor to periodicals and trade journals. She lives with her filmmaker husband, two lively daughters, and an equally energized labrador retriever.

A site visit in Albany for PomonaLisa, a freestanding ADU designed as a flexible art studio with the potential for future rental use.

The project is shaped around natural light, clean minimalism, and generous wall space for display, while the layout creates a courtyard connection between the main house and the new structure.

The house was raised four feet to make this room possible.
When this family purchased their home, they quickly discovered the basement didn't qualify as habitable square footage under current planning and building codes. Two solutions were explored: excavating the basement to meet ceiling height requirements, or lifting the house off its foundation and building a new level beneath it. Both options came in at comparable cost.

Raising the home by four feet unlocked ten-foot ceilings on the new first floor, allowing the kitchen, dining, and living areas to come together in a light-filled space designed for daily life. The result is a home that works the way the family always imagined it could.

Meet Aska Wieloch-Kim, Principal at Eisenmann Architecture. She has an uncanny ability to find the elegant solution inside a complex problem, through color, proportion, or a detail that makes everything else click. She leads many of our most significant residential projects, and clients consistently feel at ease in her hands.

Before architecture, she sailed the Atlantic at 18 as crew on a 154-foot Polish tall ship. These days she watches birds, hugs trees, and brings that same attentiveness to every home she designs.

There's a moment in every project where a detail earns a closer look. This custom oak shelving is one of them.

The joinery is precise and considered, designed to feel almost invisible until it isn't. The shelves themselves are sized and positioned to hold objects with intention, leaving room for the client's own eye to complete the composition.
