🌨️ WINTRY MIX TO KICK OFF MAY?!

We’re starting May 1st with a true plot twist: a wintry mix is expected tomorrow morning for parts of the region. No accumulation is expected, but the early‑morning precipitation may fall as sleet, graupel, or even a few snowflakes.

Mother Nature may be confused — but we’re not. We’ve been tracking this cold air mass for over a week, even while plenty of folks doubted it. Temperatures early Friday will sit between 34–39°, and any heavier bursts of precipitation during that window will fall as a wintry mix.

Timing:
-NW Ohio: 3 AM – 7 AM
-NE Ohio: 5 AM – 10 AM

After 10 AM, anything that falls will switch to plain rain.

One more twist: conditions over Lake Erie Friday morning could even support a few waterspouts.

WET WEEK AHEAD

We are watching a wet week that will bring quite a bit of rain and flooding concerns through the week. Rainfall over the next 7 days will reach 1-3", with some portions of the state seeing up to 4" of rain possible. This will result in some flooding concerns. Rivers and streams are already running higher than normal. We will continue to keep an eye on the rain potential.

POTENTIAL SEVERE TIMING

Breaking down the timing on the severe weather, it seems storms don't make it into Ohio until a little after 5 PM. These storms are expected to be northwest to southeast, with the strongest storms expected between 5PM-1AM. As storms move closer to the Ohio river, a weakening trend is expected. We will also need to watch as another round may move in, causing a flooding concern.

Ken with The Gutter Boys likes to go and check the dumpster every day to see what types of gutter guards he finds. These were gutter guards that were uninstalled and thrown away and it’s a darn shame.
