10:02 PM — This snapshot represents projected radar at 2:00 AM, and if this model verifies, we’re looking at widespread strong to severe storms actively rolling across the region. This is a high‑energy overnight setup.

I’m likely tapping out after this update because, unfortunately, I do have to be a functioning adult at work tomorrow. If things suddenly go off the rails, I’ll do my best to jump back in.

🌩️ DERECHO / MCS POTENTIAL: JULY 3RD–6TH

Alright… before anyone panics, NO, I am not telling you to cancel your 4th of July cookouts, fireworks, parades, or backyard slip‑n‑slides.
This is just a “here’s what we’re watching because the pattern is spicy” kind of post.

🔥 First: The Heat Dome
Extreme heat takes over starting June 30th, lasting through July 3rd (maybe even the 4th). During this stretch, things look mostly quiet, just your classic pop‑up storms each afternoon. Nothing widespread. Nothing organized. Just summer being summer.

💥 But THEN… the dome starts to crack
As the heat dome begins to break down, a couple of strong cold fronts try to bulldoze their way in.
And when you mix:

*Extreme heat
*Extreme humidity
*Extreme instability
*A fast‑moving corridor of wind riding the dome’s edge
…you get a setup that can support an MCS or even a derecho.

🌪️ What’s an MCS?
A Mesoscale Convective System - basically a big cluster of storms that can organize into a bowing line and produce widespread wind damage. Think: “A thunderstorm blob that decides it wants to go on a road trip.”

A derecho is just the overachieving version of that long‑lived, fast‑moving, and wind‑driven.

⚠️ Could this happen on the 4th of July?
Yes. Could it also completely miss us? Also yes.

We have the instability, we have the humidity, we have the wind, and we have the pattern. We just need the lift and that’s the wildcard.

🎆 BOTTOM LINE
Do NOT cancel your plans.

This is just a fun, early look at a pattern that could produce a big storm complex sometime between July 3rd–6th.

We’ll keep watching it together because honestly, that’s half the fun of this page.

Ken, We were entirely happy with the services provided by your employees. Our gutters were quite clogged. They cleaned them all and provided pictures on their phone of the cleaned gutters. That was a big plus for me. We were somewhat sceptical about the window cleaning, since they only used a brush and their ultra filtered water, but they dried remarkably clean and spot free. Very nice. We were quite pleased and your staff was very considerate, helpful and friendly. Noooooooooooooooooooo!

🌨️ WINTRY MIX TO KICK OFF MAY?!

We’re starting May 1st with a true plot twist: a wintry mix is expected tomorrow morning for parts of the region. No accumulation is expected, but the early‑morning precipitation may fall as sleet, graupel, or even a few snowflakes.

Mother Nature may be confused — but we’re not. We’ve been tracking this cold air mass for over a week, even while plenty of folks doubted it. Temperatures early Friday will sit between 34–39°, and any heavier bursts of precipitation during that window will fall as a wintry mix.

Timing:
-NW Ohio: 3 AM – 7 AM
-NE Ohio: 5 AM – 10 AM

After 10 AM, anything that falls will switch to plain rain.

One more twist: conditions over Lake Erie Friday morning could even support a few waterspouts.
