The dramatic geometric light fixtures, suspended by miles of low-voltage cabling, create a stunning focal point, while the Acrucraft fireplace, crafted in Wisconsin, adds warmth and sophistication to this one-of-a-kind luxury home.

Behind every beautiful finish is a team of skilled trades, precise coordination, and countless details that make a custom build truly exceptional.

What you *don’t* see behind the tile is just as important as what you do!

At Calcon Inc. , we believe exceptional craftsmanship starts long before the final tile is installed. A beautiful, long-lasting shower begins with the details behind the scenes — proper substrate preparation, waterproofing, and meticulous attention to every seam, corner, and transition.

For this project, we utilized the **Schluter- KERDI waterproofing system**, designed to help protect moisture-sensitive building materials from water intrusion when properly installed as part of a complete system.

🔨 **Why does this step matter?**
• **Waterproofing:** Helps prevent water from reaching the underlying structure when properly integrated with the drain and surrounding components.
• **Seam and corner detailing:** Proper treatment of seams, corners, and penetrations is essential to maintaining a continuous waterproof layer.
• **Substrate preparation:** A properly prepared surface provides the foundation for quality tile installation.
• **Long-term performance:** The work behind the walls plays a major role in helping prevent moisture damage and protecting the investment in your home.

Good design isn’t just about the big picture — it’s about how every finish, fixture, texture, and material works together to create a cohesive home.
A few details we’re loving in this project:
• Custom cabinetry & hardware — warm natural wood paired with fluted detailing, textured brass pulls for a timeless, elevated look.
• Thoughtful plumbing selections — even everyday elements like the faucet were chosen to complement the cabinetry, countertops, and overall material palette.
• Exterior entertaining space — the covered patio brings together brick, dark ceiling details, warm wood decking, exterior lighting, and a modern ceiling fan for an inviting indoor/outdoor connection.
• Statement feature wall — the dark accent wall with vertical brass detailing adds dimension and a sophisticated focal point without overwhelming the space.
• Material balance — warm woods, brass accents, darker architectural elements, and neutral surfaces come together to create a home that feels both modern and warm.
