Celebrating 50 years of incredible craftsmanship!
We wanted to share a great backstory about Bridgewood Cabinetry. They are a wonderful family-owned business and an incredible partner to work with every day.
In 1976, Jim Caldwell started a tiny business that he could work on in his spare time. With the help of two college students home for the summer, they built their very first product — an adjustable coffee table that could transform into a dining table. They called it the “Hi-Lo Table.”
What started as a small side business has grown and evolved over the past five decades. In 1990, the company began manufacturing cabinetry under the "Hi-Lo Custom Cabinets" name, and then changed to "Bridgewood Custom Cabinetry" in 1994. By 2009, we had transitioned to producing cabinetry exclusively — and we’ve been growing ever since!
Today, Bridgewood Cabinetry has more than 675 dealer accounts across the continental United States and ships approximately 40,000 cabinets each year.
And perhaps one of the best parts of our story is that it’s still a family business. Jim can be found here on-site just about every day, while his sons, Jay and Jeff Caldwell, are carrying the business forward and leading the day-to-day operations.
From one coffee table in 1976 to thousands of cabinets shipped across the country today, 50 years of growth, craftsmanship, family, and hard work is something worth celebrating.
Thank you to every employee, customer, dealer, representative, and family member who has been part of the Hi-Lo and Bridgewood story along the way. We’re proud of where we’ve been — and excited for where we’re going.
Here’s to 50 years!!
