I have to explain something gently. A w2 carpenters rate is at 40 an hour now. Thats w2. Now for a self employed carpenter you are going to pay at least 60 an hour. At the minimum. With the inflation the way it is and the rarity of a true carpenter these days the money has to come from somewhere.
