Fall is the best season in Central Oregon, and the homes should be built for it.

Covered outdoor kitchens that hold the warmth after sundown. Fire features that make a cold October evening the reason you stay outside. Patios placed for the view of the Cascades turning white.

Outdoor living here is not an afterthought. It gets designed as carefully as the kitchen.

The Limestone House at Brasada Ranch.

The oak barnwood beams overhead were reclaimed from an old pickle factory. The masonry is old-world limestone, laid to look like it has been there for a century. The roof is copper, left to patina with the high desert weather.

It took Best Feature and Best Landscaping at the 2024 COBA Tour of Homes.

New on the site: a straight answer for people building in Bend from somewhere else.

How the process works when you are not local. What you will see and when. How selections happen across time zones. What Buildertrend actually shows you. What we need from you and what we handle.

Written for the buyer who has fallen for Central Oregon and now needs to know how this really works.

CNC has three to four homes under construction at any given time. Not three to four per project manager. Three to four total, company-wide.

They are never all at the same stage. One is finishing. One is framing. One has not broken ground.

That is deliberate, and it is the reason the finish work looks the way it does.

There is a version of this business where you say yes to everything and hire your way through it. We have watched that version. The finish work speaks volumes.

Central Oregon. Since 2016.

"Because we built from afar and wanted to be engaged every step of the way, we really appreciated their excellent communication, responsiveness, and use of technology."

Tammy and Charles Wilhoite built in Brasada Ranch without living in Central Oregon. Their home took Best of Show at the 2023 COBA Tour of Homes.

Their words, not ours: "If you are looking for a builder who genuinely wants to help you build the home you desire and will stand behind their product, we highly recommend CNC Homes."

We publish our price range openly: $500 to $900 per square foot.

Here is what people get wrong about that spread. It is not custom at the top and something less than custom at the bottom. Every CNC home is fully custom at any point in the range.

What moves the number is complexity. How much built-in millwork. How much structural detail. How many curves, how many custom windows, how much the site itself asks for before you can pour a foundation.

Two homes, same square footage, four hundred dollars a foot apart, both entirely custom.

Yes. A good share of our clients do exactly that.

They find the land first. Then comes the real question: how do you trust a builder you cannot drive past on a Tuesday afternoon?

Every CNC client has real-time access to line-item budgets and selections through Buildertrend. You see the same numbers we see, from the first day through certificate of occupancy. Photos, decisions, costs, all of it, from wherever you are.

The budget you sign is the budget you build to.

If you want to be living in your custom home by spring of 2028, this is roughly when the first conversation happens.

Plan on 18 to 24 months from that first call to move-in day. The build phase runs 12 to 16 months once permits are pulled. Communities with design review, like Brasada Ranch, Caldera Springs, and Tree Farm, add two to four months on the front end for approvals.

That timeline is not a warning. It is the reason the finished home looks the way it does.
