A successful blowout is about using the right air volume and pressure for the system, not simply forcing air through the lines. We use truck-towed equipment and work carefully through the irrigation system so zones are cleared without treating delicate components like they are all the same. Professional winterization begins in the second week of October. Sign up at www.bendblowouts.com.

Some irrigation zones hold onto water because of their layout, elevation changes, or low points. Before freezing weather arrives, it’s worth noting zones that drain slowly, have unusual slopes, or have needed extra attention in the past. We can use those details to plan a more careful winterization visit. Sign up and prepay at www.bendblowouts.com as we prepare the schedule for service beginning the second week of October.

Freezing walks and driveways are a safety hazard we can help prevent. As temperatures drop across Bend, Redmond, Sisters, and Central Oregon, we recommend reducing irrigation run times and scheduling watering later in the day: not overnight or in the early morning: so water has less chance of freezing on sidewalks and driveways. Always follow your local watering rules and adjust your schedule for frost, wind, precipitation, and actual landscape conditions.

As we prepare systems for winter, remember that the ground acts as an insulator, so valve box lids should remain securely in place. Above-ground ball valves should be left open to help prevent freezing damage. Irrigation pumps exposed to cold weather should be drained or protected inside an enclosure with heat.

Our winterizations begin the second week of October and finish before Thanksgiving. During each visit, we document leaks and necessary repairs and include them on the client’s invoice to support spring startup planning.

If you need help preparing your irrigation system, reach out to us. We’re here to help protect your property and keep walkways safer this winter.

A well-prepared irrigation shutdown does more than protect a property through winter. It helps tell the story of a system’s care.

When we winterize a home, we help create a clearer baseline for the next season and the next homeowner. A properly communicated shutdown can make it easier to understand how the irrigation system supports the landscape, what has been addressed, and what should be considered during future startup or ownership.

That kind of clarity can support a smoother handoff, strengthen buyer confidence, and help protect the value of an important property investment in Bend, Redmond, Sisters, and throughout Central Oregon.

Our winterization service begins the second week of October and finishes before Thanksgiving. To schedule and prepay, visit www.bendblowouts.com.

Before the irrigation season ends, remember your backflow assembly deserves more than a quick glance. A state-certified test and careful winter preparation help protect the assembly and your water supply. We can document what we find during the visit and note any follow-up for spring. Central Oregon properties don’t all winterize the same way. Soil conditions, elevation, slopes, long runs, and the layout of your landscape can change how we approach the work. We take time to understand the property so vulnerable areas aren’t overlooked. If you’re in Bend, Redmond, Sisters, or nearby, add your home to our winterization list at www.bendblowouts.com.

Backflow protection in Central Oregon takes more than a layer of insulation.

Insulation can help protect a backflow assembly from temperature swings, but it is not a substitute for proper installation or winterization. The best protection starts with installing the assembly at the correct depth and in a properly designed enclosure for the site and local conditions. The surrounding ground acts as a natural insulator, helping protect buried components from freezing temperatures.

As winter approaches in Bend, Redmond, Sisters, and surrounding areas, we inspect backflow assemblies carefully and look for exposed piping, damaged enclosures, missing lids, and other conditions that could lead to freeze damage. We also document leaks or needed repairs and include them on the client’s invoice so they can be planned for during spring startup.

Our winterizations begin the second week of October and finish before Thanksgiving. If your backflow assembly or irrigation system needs attention before the cold arrives, we’re here to help protect your investment.

Two homes on the same street can have completely different irrigation systems. We look at the layout, equipment, zones, and property conditions before we winterize, not every system can be treated the same way. Not every air compressor is suited to winterizing an irrigation system. Adequate volume and a controlled process are important when clearing water from multiple zones, especially on larger Central Oregon properties. We bring the right equipment for the system we’re servicing and work methodically instead of guessing. If your irrigation is ready for winter protection, sign up and prepay at www.bendblowouts.com.

Have an irrigation leak, broken line, or valve issue? Late-season repairs are easier before Central Oregon’s ground freezes.

Once frost sets in, the ground becomes much harder to dig and access: especially on larger acreage properties. Booking repairs early helps us locate the problem, complete the excavation, and restore your system before winter conditions make the work more difficult.

Our winterizations begin the second week of October and finish before Thanksgiving. During winter preparation, we keep valve box lids in place because the ground acts as an insulator, leave above-ground ball valves open to help prevent freeze damage, and adjust any necessary run times to later in the day to reduce ice hazards. Exposed irrigation pumps should be drained or protected inside an enclosed space with heat.

We also document leaks and necessary repairs found during winterization and include them on your invoice, giving us a clear plan for spring startup.

If you’re in Bend, Redmond, Sisters, or the surrounding Central Oregon area, contact us soon to schedule your repair before frozen ground limits access.
