We were honored to once again sponsor the Cast for Kids event this February.

This year we were excited to move the event from Temple to beautiful Nolan Creek in downtown Belton. With the help of the Belton Chamber of Commerce and the City of Belton, it was a fantastic day on the water as the kids fished for Rainbow Trout stocked by Texas Parks and Wildlife.

A huge thank you to Sandor Homes — Allen and Brandy Sandor — for providing hot dogs and hamburgers for all the participants, volunteers, and families who joined us. In years past, Allen and Brandy, owners of Small Cakes in Temple, have generously provided cupcakes, and this year they surprised everyone with a special treat of cake pops to go along with lunch.

We were blessed to serve 34 amazing kids this year. Each child enjoyed a great day of fishing, received a plaque with their picture, and went home with a brand-new fishing rod and tackle box.

It’s days like these that remind us why we love being part of this community.
