Just completed helping out a guy close up the place before the snow sets in.
Tore out the old windows on the second floor and a couple on the first floor. This involved removing all the shutters, cutting the old caulking attached to the clapboard and old window trim and cleaning up each cavity and reapplying new weather flashing, to protect the wood (framing and sheathing). The client ( who happens to be a mechanical engineer) prefabbed his own trim, that fit perfectly to the windows and openings. Great teamwork.
The windows do come with a trim you could purchase, but the owner wanted to match the rest of the trim.
