I’ve been installing heating systems across this valley for longer than I have been plumbing. That’s over 30 years of experience and over the years I have focused on making floor heat affordable. A gas power vented water heater shown here can heat up 2500 square feet.

Leaks can be difficult to find sometimes. Water can use surface tension to travel sideways and almost defy gravity.
I use toilet paper. I’ll place it high and low in different places. Then check it every so often, it will usually help you determine the source quicker.

Plumbing tricks. If you ever change out a water heater, a good precautionary measure is to loop the water to the Shut Off. This prevents cold water from shooting out at you if someone uses the kitchen sink or other single handle faucets.
When you’re working next to a drain, make sure to plug it off or use a catch such as my hat for any little parts that want to disappear.
 lastly, if you have a plumber coming by to work under your kitchen sink, it’s a good idea to move the stuff out of the way for him. They like that.
