A milestone worth celebrating.

The Dow LAO Flare Gas Recovery project in Plaquemine was a major undertaking, with around 30,000 linear feet of pipe, 1,300 welds, 760 pipe supports, 700 bolt-ups and over 210,000 total manhours.

A milestone of its own was the successful management of over 61,000 subcontractor manhours throughout the project. Coordinating multiple crews and subcontractors across a large, active facility required strong communication, planning and ex*****on from start to finish.

The project came with its share of challenges, including congested existing infrastructure, changing field conditions and a demanding turnaround schedule. With the flare work on a 15-day window and more than 100 welds to complete during that timeframe, coordination between Action Industries, subcontractors and other crews was critical. Despite 30 rain delays and severe winter weather, the team continued pushing the project forward and ultimately completed the project two weeks ahead of schedule.

The project was completed with zero injuries, reflecting the team’s unwavering commitment to safety throughout every phase of the work.

This milestone is a testament to the team’s ability to manage complex work, adapt to changing conditions and keep the project moving forward — no matter the challenges.

A day to remember. A time to honor. A moment for unity.

Twenty-five years later, we still pause to remember. We honor the lives lost, the heroes who served, and the resilience that helped our nation heal. Though the years have passed, the lessons of courage, sacrifice, and unity remain as important as ever.

A milestone worth celebrating.

At Dow’s St. Charles Operations in Hahnville, our team completed a complex flare gas recovery project involving approximately 12,000 linear feet of pipe, 500 welds, 1,000 pipe supports and 400 bolt-ups. The project required approximately 121,000 total manhours, including approximately 15,000 subcontractor manhours managed across a footprint that stretched throughout the facility.

Working within an operating plant brought its share of challenges, from congested pipe racks and inaccurate as-builts to tight work areas and record-setting heat. Through daily tailgate meetings, coordinated work assignments and the ability to shift resources where they were needed most, the team kept the work moving while maintaining safety as a priority.

The result was a milestone we’re proud of: zero incidents or injuries, while completing the project ahead of schedule and on budget.

This accomplishment reflects the planning, adaptability and teamwork that went into every phase of the project — from our field crews to the subcontractors working alongside them.
