We are hiring for positions on both our paving crew, and sealcoating/ line striping crew.

No experience necessary.

Basic mechanical, equipment operation, and math/ layout skills are a plus.

Transverse and longitudinal cracks that form on roadways are typically treated using a rout and seal method. Here, a pavement saw or router is used to create a reservoir that’s centered over existing cracks. Then the entire preparation is filled with a sealant.

Since water drains off asphalt pavement, achieving the proper drainage pitch is going to be critical. Basically, the pavement should have a slop from crown to edge (typically a quarter of an inch per foot).

The first true asphalt roadway is believed to have been laid in the United States around 1870 by Belgian chemist Edmund J. DeSmedt. This sand mixture was laid in front of the City Hall in Newark, New Jersey and was patterned after a natural asphalt pavement laid in France in 1852.

When building and paving roads, the quality of the base counts. The base needs to be prepared with the proper thickness for the traffic it must bear and the gravel compacted to a density where the road will drain well before the pavement is installed.

While the asphalt roads we construct can be open for traffic as soon as the asphalt is compacted, we suggest you allow your newly paved driveway or parking lot to set up and cure for three days before driving and parking on them.
