Garbage disposals are undoubtedly convenient, but they can significantly impact the health and lifespan of your septic system if not used properly.

If you choose to use one, follow these tips to protect your system:
1. Use it sparingly, not as a primary waste solution.
2. Always use cold water when you grind food.
3. Have your tank pumped twice as frequently.

Not sure how much sludge is sitting in your tank? Our crew can measure it and let you know exactly where you stand. Give State Line Septic a call to schedule your inspection or pumping today at (479) 619-8226.

There are plenty of home projects where ingenuity and creativity get the job done, but septic isn't one of them! 🙅🏼‍♀️

Improvised solutions, like the ones we found on this jobsite, create major safety hazards:
⚠️ Fall & Drowning Hazards: Cracked or mismatched lids can collapse under weight, putting kids, pets, and visitors at serious risk.
⚠️ Harmful Gas Leaks: Unsealed covers let toxic, bad-smelling gases like methane escape into your yard.
⚠️ System Overloads: Rainwater pours through the gaps, flooding your drainfield and causing costly backups.
⚠️ Debris & Pests: Openings welcome rocks, trash, and breeding pests right into your tank.

If your lid is cracked, loose, or doesn’t quite fit, reach out to State Line Septic and we'll get you on the schedule!

Where does the water go after it leaves your septic tank?💧

Ever wonder where all that water goes after you flush the toilet or take a shower? 🚽🚿 Think of the ground like a giant sponge! When water leaves your septic tank, it travels into your drain field, where it slowly soaks into the soil. 🌱 The soil acts like a natural filter! Tiny organisms in the ground help clean the water as it moves through. ☀️ Some water is absorbed by plants and released into the air. A little may evaporate. 💦 But much of that water continues traveling deeper into the ground and can eventually reach the groundwater (water table).

Mother Nature does an amazing job of helping clean and recycle water! That’s why a properly working septic system is so important. It helps protect our soil, groundwater, and drinking water! 💚

New distribution box going in! 🔧

The D-box is the traffic cop of your septic system. It takes wastewater from your tank and splits it evenly between your drain field lines. When the D-box is cracked, sunken, or out of level, wastewater flows unevenly, which can lead to drain field failure.

At State Line Septic, our services go far beyond pumping tanks. From repairs to new installs, we've got every part of your system covered.

You lock your doors and gate your pool, but what about your septic tank? 🔒

A Polylok safety screen creates a protective barrier inside your tank in case the lid is ever damaged or left unsecured, helping prevent tragic accidents involving children and animals.

At State Line Septic, we install safety screens that give our clients true peace of mind.
📲 Message or call us today to schedule your installation.

Stop paying someone to dig up your yard! 🪏

Septic risers put your tank lid right at the surface. No locating, no digging, and no torn-up yard every few years.

Fall is the best time to have your risers installed because the soil is still soft and your grass has plenty of time to recover before spring.
