ATTENTION MISSOURI, ILLINOIS, INDIANA & OHIO.
Save a ton on delivery by meeting us on our route. We'll be traveling through the area on September 25th from NW Arkansas & can stop in areas like Joplin, Springfield MO, Rolla, St Louis, Terre Haute, Effingham, Indianapolis, Springfield OH, Columbus and areas in between (see map in photos)

These pews are from the 1800s & early 1900s & have been restored to be strong as new.

We got most pews directly from its church so we have the history for you too.

Let us know which bench you're interested in and we'll send more details including the history and photos of the church it came from.

Nestled on the banks of the Mississippi, construction of the Saint Irenaeus Chapel began in 1864. This former parish is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Local tie-in: Troops from this town fought at the battle of Pea Ridge and would have returned and likely attended this church. Many Irish Catholic soldiers returned to Lyons and helped complete the structure which opened in 1869.

Nestled on the banks of the Mississippi, construction of the Saint Irenaeus Chapel began in 1864. This former parish is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

This historic structure was donated to the city of Clinton Iowa. After sitting vacant for several years, the chapel was recently aquired by another church that is now restoring the building. Our purchase of the benches is going towards the restoration.

The bench is original to the church and made of mahogany & pine. The base of the legs are secured to the foot of the bench with cast iron brackets.

Various lengths are possible as we have multiple benches.

When you get a bench from Jefferson's Historic Furniture, you're not buying an unwanted piece of furniture, you're investing in historical preservation you can pass down for generations. We're not trying to make them "like new". We're preserving the character ingrained in the wood of over a century worth of worship. When we finish, they are strong as new & ready for another century of love.

Attached are photos from our visit as well as historic photos. The map of Lyons (now Clinton) was made in 1868 and shows the church.

The ends are quarter-sawn oak with hand carved decorations.

Summerfield M.E. Church was built in the heart of Milwaukee in 1904. Markings on a few of the pews say "Gimble Bros. Milwaukee Wis."

The four leaves of the quatrefoil can represent the four Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). It can also be seen as an extension of the Cross, symbolizing hope and faith, proportion, balance, symmetry, and wholeness.

This bench is about 40" long and come with a padded seat. $625

These church benches are all on special from $299-$499 for a limited time.
They range from about 4 feet to 5 feet long and are all true antiques that have been restored to be strong as new.

Monroe Michigan was home to many Civil-War veterans, the most famous being George Armstrong Custer.

The Trinity Episcopal Church of Monroe Michigan removed a few of its original pews to make room for handicapped seating. We were lucky enough to get them.

The benches were hand made with wood dowls & hand-forged nails. Look closely at the photos to see dowls & paneling. The seat is a single hand-scraped plank.

The church has its beginnings in 1831 & boasts having Tiffany stained-glass windows. It's also the home of George Armstrong Custer (a famous leader in the Civil War & died at the Battle of Little Bighorn.)

Custer's wife had a bride's maid that attended Trinity & parishioners like to think he may have made a few appearances at the church.

Delivery is available in some areas for a fee.
