We are closing in on the end of April and things have finally started to look a little more like spring over the past couple of weeks!!

The grass has greened up in most areas and the dandelions are flowering along with a few other springtime w**ds. This is a plus believe it or not as it helps with the effectiveness of our w**d control.

I have also been keeping a close eye on the soil temps and we are still quite a ways away from crabgrass germination. This means the late spring - early summer timing of our pre/post-emergent treatments for crabgrass should be right on track again this year.

We will be finishing up our first application in the next couple of weeks so if you are already on our schedule please be patient and we will be there soon. If you are still looking for someone to service your lawn let us know and we will get a free estimate out to you.

At this point in the season we are also getting close to the end of our spring aerations so if you haven't yet signed up for one and are in need of having it done just let us know and we will get you on the schedule. This is also a good time to overseed if you are struggling with any thin areas in the lawn.

BlueGrass Lawns is currently looking to add 2-3 people to finish out the 2020 fall/winter seasons as well as continue on into 2021. This is a great opportunity to get in the door and get trained as either a lawn technician or a pest control applicator for next year. Benefits include vacation time and company retirement contributions after first year. Staring pay ranges from $13-$16 per hour for new, untrained hires but can be more depending on experiences or currently held licenses. We are excited to announce that we now offer a variety of pest control options for all of your outdoor needs!!! This means that you no longer have to deal with mosquitos, fleas and ticks biting you and your pets or tolerate ants destroying your lawn!! Simply sign up for our 6 step program for a full application of insecticide to your lawn and surrounding vegetation!!! We can also help you keep the insects outdoors where they belong with perimeter pest control applications around your home. This includes but is not limited to bugs such as spiders, ants, earwigs, bees, wasps and many more.

To our valued customers,

We are starting applications on Monday April 27th. We realize everyone is anxious to get going so we will be working extra days and hours to get your first application done as soon as possible. We will still be running all of our routes in the normal order so with the late start you should expect to see us approximately 3 weeks or so later than usual. We have extra technicians helping so we WILL have everyone’s first application done by the end of May. Based on current soil temperatures this will still allow for the pre-emergent to be down in time to be effective and as a follow-up we intend on using pre-emergent and post emergent products with the 2nd application as well to help combat any potential crabgrass issues. And as always we will be taking care of your broad leaf w**ds during each visit as we know these are already popping up with the warmer weather.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time. We are still looking forward to having a great summer season now that the restrictions are lifted and we will see you very soon!!
