Another project in the books! ⚡🔋

We recently had the opportunity to install an Anker SOLIX battery backup system for one of our customers, integrating it directly into their home’s electrical system.

Whole-home battery systems are becoming a great option for homeowners looking for backup power during outages, greater energy independence, and an alternative or complement to a traditional standby generator.

As battery technology continues to improve, we expect to see a lot more systems like this going into homes.

Some days, the ground rod goes in easy. And then there are days like this where the ground just doesn’t cooperate. Shout-out to Evan, our apprentice, for putting in the work and refusing to let a stubborn ground rod win. Proper grounding is an important part of keeping a system safe, and sometimes getting it done just takes a little extra persuasion. Nice work, Evan! 💪🏼

A little color can completely change a room!

We recently had the opportunity to install this programmable RGB LED cove lighting in a customer’s family room.

We install quite a bit of low-voltage LED lighting, but most of what we do is traditional white accent lighting. This one was a little different — giving the customer the ability to change colors and completely change the look and feel of the room with the touch of a button.

A little something different for us lately! ⚡

First up, we helped Open Road Provisions get their food trailer squared away by correcting some bonding issues. If you’re in the area, check them out at Thirsty Spirits at the corner of Mountain Rd. & Greenspring Ave. Good food and a local business worth supporting!

We also had the opportunity to install programmable RGB cove lighting in a customer’s family room. We install quite a bit of low-voltage LED lighting, but most of it is traditional white lighting, so getting to play around with a full-color RGB setup was a fun change of pace.

We’ll post a separate video showing the cove lighting cycling through the different colors — it turned out pretty slick!

September 11, 2001 — September 11, 2026
25 Years. We Remember.

Today, CMD Electric joins our community in remembering the lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93.

We honor the first responders who ran toward danger, the everyday people who helped others, and the families whose lives were forever changed. We also remember those who have suffered or lost their lives from illnesses related to their service and exposure in the aftermath.

Twenty-five years later, we carry their memory forward through kindness, service, and looking out for one another.

We will never forget.

Last week, the CMD Electric team had the opportunity to visit Eaton’s local satellite manufacturing plant for a behind-the-scenes look at its operations.

We enjoyed seeing firsthand how Eaton’s products are manufactured and learning more about the processes, technology, and quality control that go into the equipment we install every day. We also received an in-depth introduction to some of Eaton’s newest products and upcoming innovations.

A big thank-you to the Eaton team for welcoming us, answering our questions, and sharing their expertise. Opportunities like this help us stay current with the latest electrical products and provide better-informed solutions for our customers.
