We got this big project wrapped up today! This deck was in very bad shape, and posed many hazards to the homeowners. We tore down the chimney, both decks, and the poorly built roof system that was under the deck and above the carport.
We had to remove some framing to the carport , and add a few courses of block to get our desired height for our new deck.
Once the block was done, we framed up our new deck and installed new basement jacks to support the beam for our framing. Once the framing was done, we installed TREX Rainescapes Deck Guttering system to keep the carport dry, and drain the water properly.
Deck boards were installed, and then we built the top deck after fixing some damaged sub-siding from the previous deck.
Cable handrail was installed so the owner could have a clear view from their deck with minimal eyesight obstruction.
We didn’t get any before pictures, but we tore down the old rotted posts/handrail on the front porch and built it to match the decks!
We left a Bible verse on the top deck framing as a prayer of protection for the homeowners as the enjoy their time on the new decks.
