Just had a new metal roof installed? Do this one thing. 👀🏠

Scratches in the paint might not look like a big deal, but they expose the bare metal underneath. Once that happens, rust can start, and your brand-new roof can wear out much faster than it should.

Most roofs don't fail because of the shingles, They fail because the attic can't breathe.

A good roof needs balanced ventilation: air coming in through the soffit and air going out at the ridge. We aim for about 55/45 intake to exhaust so the system actually works.

Bad ventilation means higher energy bills, shorter shingle life, and moisture problems in the attic. Ask your roofer what you're doing about it. 👇

If you have a metal roof, check for two screws right next to each other.👀

That's usually a sign the first screw missed and didn't bite, so a second one got added next to it. The second screw isn't compressing the neoprene washer the way it's suppose to. so it isn't keep water out. Caulk in the whole only hides the problem, and if you can back the screw out by hand, it isn't watertight.

: Weather strip just coming right out. 😬

This is what a failed seal looks like on a metal roof. When the weather stripping pulls loose this easily, it can't keep wind-driven rain, dust, or pests out. Water gets under the panels, and a small gap turns into a leak you find after the ceiling stains.
