A daylight basement remodel from Nov and Dec i realized was never posted.
For some reason the original people that built out the living room space, used exterior plank siding instead of drywall. Nor was it air gaped sealed, as there were spots you could see right to the outside, and felt very drafty. Old carpet was smelly and the insulation in the walls had years of mice nests.
So ripped out all the old plank walls, insulation and carpet throughout ( even the bathroom has carpet).
Air gap sealed the building envelope, new rockwool insulation, drywall, new carpet for the main space, hall and stairs.
Put in LVP for the bathroom, laundry room, and office space. Full paint throughout. New smart light fixtures for the main space with with light up crown molding. All outlets and switches replaced.
New kitchenette cabneits installed with a funky cool glass backsplash.
Also turned dead space under the stairs into a little storage closet.
Repurposed the old kitchenette upper cabinets into laundry room storage.
The clients are super happy with how it all turned out. They love their color choices. The main space feels warm and inviting vs cold, drafty and smelly.
Now they love going into their TV room space of their new to them house.
