Two years.
It hardly seems possible that this August marks two years since we lost our founder, Dan Steele.
August will always hold two significant dates for us—his birthday and the day we said goodbye. It feels only right to once again dedicate this month’s spotlight to the man whose vision, values, and work ethic continue to shape Steele Electric every single day.
Dan wasn’t just the founder of Steele Electric—he was the heart behind it.
He believed there was a right way to do things: tell the truth, work hard, solve the problem, and always take care of people. Whether you were family, a customer, an employee, or someone he’d just met, he made you feel like you mattered.
He was the kind of leader who expected excellence because he gave nothing less himself. If something was worth doing, it was worth doing 100%. And somehow, even on the toughest days, he’d still find a way to make everyone laugh with one of his legendary dad jokes.
Two years later, his absence is still deeply felt. We still catch ourselves saying, “Dan would’ve known what to do,” or wondering what joke he’d make in a particular moment. While time has moved forward, the impact he made hasn’t faded.
In fact, it’s grown.
His first grandson, Daniel, was born the day before the one year anniversary of his passing. A daily reminder that while life changes, love and legacy continue.
At Steele Electric, we continue to build on the foundation he laid. Every project we complete, every customer we serve, and every member of our team who carries forward his values is part of the legacy he started.
We miss him every day.
We honor him in the way we work.
And we’ll keep carrying forward what he built—with integrity, hard work, and the belief that people always come first.
Thank you, Dan, for showing us what it means to give your all.
We’ll keep doing our best to make you proud.
