❄️ Winter Plumbing Tips from Tru Plumbing ❄️
Cold temperatures can be tough on your plumbing. A few simple steps can help prevent frozen pipes and costly damage this winter:
✔️ Know Your Main Valve – Make sure you know where your main water shut-off valve is and that it’s easy to access in an emergency.
✔️ Let Faucets Drip – On very cold nights, allow a slow drip from faucets—especially those on exterior walls—to keep water moving.
✔️ Open Cabinets – Open kitchen and bathroom cabinets to let warm air circulate around pipes under sinks.
✔️ Maintain Heat – Keep your thermostat set to at least 55°F, even when you’re away, to avoid frozen pipes.
✔️ Check Your Water Heater – Winter puts extra strain on water heaters. Make sure yours is running efficiently to keep hot water flowing.
