This week we are shining our spotlight on Alexis Burns. Alexis works with us as a Project Scheduler/Controls and has been instrumental on projects such as Golden Triangle Polymers, Bechtel - PALNG, Motiva Medical, Nederland ISD Dog Dome and Tuscany Park.

Alexis is a Beaumont native and has a degree in AAS Instrumentation. When not at work, you can find her, her husband and 2 daughters out and about enjoying family time, riding jet skis, hiking or biking.

The next time you see Alexis, tell her we appreciate her work and dedication.

Today we showcase Keene Wilson. Keene works as Director of Industrial Services and has worked various projects such as the Total CBB Expansion, Motiva Medical Reno, Entergy PA & Orange Service Center, The Port of Beaumont, Port of Orange and others.

Keene went to Hardin-Jefferson High School and Lamar University. He is married and a father of 2 boys. He keeps his family busy by hunting, fishing and golfing. Keene also serves as a seasonal duck guide.

He says the best part of his job is "the responsibility that comes with the legacy of H.B. Neild and the employees that I represent."

Thank you Deborah Healey Drago for presenting H.B. Neild Construction President Thomas Neild Jr. with a resolution this week in appreciation of his previous service to the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Special thank you to Mr. Paul S. Simmons, Deputy General Manager at TotalEnergies, Port Arthur Refinery and Ethane Cracker Complex for coming onto the Board to continue the Chamber's important work.

Meet Katelin McDonald. Katelin works in our Accounts Payable Department here at H.B. Neild. She has been instrumental in almost every project making sure each of our vendors gets paid in a timely manner.

Katelin is from Beaumont, grew up in Vidor and graduated from Lamar Institute of Technology. Her life outside of work is busy with a husband and 3 kids. She loves family vacations, reading and cooking. Speaking of which, her favorites are her mom's meatloaf, Sushi, ALL Mexican food and pasta.

She says she loves "my co-workers and the work atmosphere. Everyone is kind and always in a good mood. The entire company is full of smiles and laughs. I work for the greatest family in the Golden Triangle, hands down!"

WE feel the same way about you Katelin. If you see her out and about, tell her you saw this and that we love what she does for our company.

We've been busy out and about in our community the past few weeks. We've attended the 6th Annual Tim Schossow Memorial Golf Tournament, the Texas National Maritime Day Gala and Orange County EDC Economic Development Luncheon.

This week we are featuring our own Ty Neild. Ty is a native of Beaumont, where he graduated West Brook before getting his Universal Studies of Architecture / Business Degree from Texas A&M University.

Ty works with us as Director of Projects after having worked his way up from a Laborer, to Assistant Super to Project Engineer and then Project Manager. He has been part of projects for Exxon CCB, Nederland ISF, GTP and Tuscany Park to name a few.

Ty is Married with one child and enjoys steak and pizza offset by exercise. When asked about what he likes most about his job, he beams "Helping to build things in our community and working with people I like day in and day out."

Thanks Ty for all you do for us and our community.

Director of Safety Andrew Jones Jr. and Safety Manager Milton Sellers are part of the team highlighting safety at the jobsite and in the community this week as part of Construction Safety Week. Thank you Associated General Contractors of SETX for the excellent safety award recognition this week. Also, a big thank you to Arthur Louis Jr. for taking time out of his day to speak to our team about safety and commitment across all avenues.

You've seen our work, but probably didn't realize that HB Neild was an instrumental part of creating the images of our community. One such example is one of the first buildings that people notice when heading into Southeast Texas from Houston is the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Beaumont Plaza.

The eight-story Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Beaumont Plaza opened in the mid-1980s as a 253-room property. The owner’s timeline called for forming and pouring the decks and turning them around in a very tight timeframe, which we accomplished in true HB Neild fashion. The location originally stood in the middle of rice fields, creating the need for a large pile foundation that had to be bored and poured—work that was not typical of a Beaumont construction job. Also, the hotel’s water fountain is all poured-in-place concrete.

This week we want to introduce everyone to Trisha Gonzales. Trisha is a controller here at HB Neild. Prior to joining our team, she was the Associate Director of Finance at AT&T as well as Billing & AP Manager at MRC & Total Safety.

Trisha is originally from Lubbock, but holds degrees in Education and Accounting from Lamar. She has been married for 31 years (congratulations!!) and has 6 kids, 5 kids-in-law and 5 grandchildren. When not doing an amazing job here, you can find her relaxing near water with her family and enjoying Mexican or Italian food.

"Working with people who care about the kind of job they do and care even more about those they work with" is the best part of her job here at HB Neild

We love helping to build our communities.

Tomorrow there are two great events in our area:

We will attend the Orange County Economic Development Corporation Economic Development Luncheon on May 5th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Orange County Expo Center, bringing together business leaders, community stakeholders, and regional partners for an afternoon focused on growth and opportunity.

We will also be attending The Port of Port Arthur's Camp SeaPort, in partnership with the Port Arthur International Seafarers' Center, the Annual Texas National Maritime Day Gala. It will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Robert A. "Bob" Bowers Civic Center, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Guests enjoy an evening of distinguished recognition, exceptional cuisine, and meaningful networking as we honor the rich legacy, ongoing contributions, and promising future of the maritime industry.
