This week we want to feature Todd Langston, our VP of Operations. Todd is one of our many long-term employees and has previously served as a Senior Project Manager for us at H.B. Neild.

Todd has been key in projects such as Buckeye Control Room, Golden Triangle Polymers, Total Ethane Cracker CCB Expansion and many, many others.
Todd graduated from LC-M High School before getting his degree in Drafting from Lamar University.

When not working, you can find Todd enjoying time with his two kids, Lane and Emma, probably coaching or cheering them on in baseball or softball or enjoying crawfish or Mexican food.

Todd says “I truly enjoy the people I work with, and the connections made with the people that help build our community…..oh AND problem solving!”

Todd, you help us and our clients solve problems every day, or should we say, you help us all maximize opportunities every day. Thank you for all of your hard work.

Today we want to shine our spotlight on one of our ‘hidden’ employees, Jeff Downs. We say ‘hidden’ as Jeff works as IT Manager for us and does a ton of ‘behind the screen’ work.

He works on our Sharepoint and Gigatrack Asset Tracking Systems among many other projects and is invaluable to our operations.

Jeff has two children, a daughter (14) and son (22) who he likes taking road trips and enjoying seafood with.

When asked about his job and what he likes, Jeff responds “helping people be more productive and working in a zero-stress environment.”

Thank you, Jeff for your often ‘unseen’ but oh so important work.

Meet Magdiel Torres, one of our Project Managers here at H.B. Neild after having served as a Project Engineer. Magdiel has worked on such projects as Golden Triangle Polymers, Nederland ISD and Tuscany Park.

Originally from Cleveland, Texas, Magdiel graduated from Shepherd High School before getting his Bachelors in Construction Management from Lamar University.
Magdiel enjoys traveling, golf, meeting new people as well as enjoying a good meal with family. His favorites are Mexican, Italian and Southern cooking.

“The opportunity to grow as a person in both my professional and personal career with sub-contractors and clients” is his favorite part of his career.

We would like to introduce you to Pam Cormier, our Administrative Assistant / Receptionist, and the person who always greets our customers with a friendly “hello” and a smile.

Pam was born in Port Arthur and grew up in Bridge City, graduating from Bridge City High School. She has been married for 33 years and is the proud mom of 3 kids and 2 grandchildren. Pam is an avid gardener and loves her flowers, almost as much as she enjoys a good steak.

When asked what she likes most about her job, Pam says “the family that has been developed from teamwork and the flexibility for work/life balance. I can’t stress enough how important the work/life balance is when problems arise with health or family.”

Pam, you’re always so friendly, upbeat and professional. We’re glad you’re often people’s first encounter with us.

H.B. Neild Construction recently hosted a "thank you" lunch for team members working at Port Arthur LNG in recognition of their outstanding performance in achieving key safety and production benchmarks.

Projects succeed because of the commitment, craftsmanship and teamwork of those in the field, and we appreciate the dedication the H.B. Neild crew brings to the job every day. Good barbecue and great people made for a memorable afternoon.

As a subcontractor to Bechtel Construction Services on Port Arthur LNG Phase 1, H.B. Neild serves as the Building Package EPC contractor and is responsible for the design and construction of seven buildings at the site. We are proud to support a project that will strengthen the Gulf Coast's role as a global energy leader while creating lasting economic opportunities for the region.

Meet David “Brent” Price, another one of our Superintendents here at H.B. Neild.
Brent was a major player in the success of constructing the new Nederland High School.

Originally from Beaumont, Brent graduated from Hamshire-Fannett High School and is a proud husband and father of 2. In his free time, Brent enjoys cooking and eating anything Cajun.

Brent says, “I started at H.B. Neild in April of 2008. With my previous construction knowledge and the mentorship of many great superintendents, that I’ve had the privilege to work with over the years, I have been able to work my way up to becoming a senior superintendent. Now, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with the younger generation in hopes of building a stronger future for H.B. Neild.”

Our spotlight this week shines on Chris Catalina our HR Director. Chris is from Port Arthur and holds his degree in HR Management from Lamar University.

He is married and a proud dad of a 16-year-old son. We are enjoying Chris’s favorite time of year…College Football Season. In addition to binging on the games, Chris enjoys seafood, especially sushi.

“Working at a company where both employees and management support each other and the ownership cares about each staff member” is what Chris says he loves most about his job.

Well, it sounds like you’re doing your job well in helping create that environment!

This week we want to feature Jason Fontaine, one of our Superintendents here at H.B. Neild. Jason has been a vital part of such projects as OCI Beaumont, Natgas, Liberty ISD bond, Exxon CC, Bechtel PA-LNG and several others.

Born in Beaumont, Jason went to school in Silsbee and is now a proud husband of 25 years and father to 2 boys. When not working, you’ll find him in the great outdoors; either fishing or hunting. He says his favorite food is Creole.

When asked about his job, Jason says he loves “dealing with various people and helping solve problems.”
