Quick sketch before the games start today, with Sundays being my only day off during this course it’s split between getting some art in and watching Cinci continue to kill it.

Despite all the madness this week i did snap a few picture of this project before leaving Florida. Held this build close to the chest until it could be presented but here it is. Custom figured cherry, maple inlayed retirement trunk I had the pleasure of building for my dad as he closed out over 32 years of service. A lot of learning came out of this but I’m pretty happy about it.

Finished up this white oak coffee table build. Final finish with oil plus 2C natural. Came out awesome, solid grain color for sure. They asked for a sturdy coffee table and this thing had got some meat to it.

Rough cuts finished, this will be the base to the white Ike coffee table I’m working on. Thinking about sneaking in some walnut inlays somewhere inconspicuous along with adding some small details here and there. Still a lot of work to do but gettin there.

Custom made Viking inspired hope chest for some awesome people. Made from cedar and finished with . Enjoyed the process of integrating cnc work into furniture builds, definitely going to be doing that more often. Went a little extra adding the tacks, lock hinge, and rope handles but I got carried away for sure. Probably do more of these in the near future as I plan to get carried away with more stuff next time.

Quick intermission with the cutting board as I had to lay down a little epoxy to fill some of the natural voids. Fantasy football trophy for a good friend of mine made with walnut and curly maple and finished, as always, with . Mila, on the other hand, is more worried on why she’s not the center of attention.

Been a long week at work and it’s going to piggy back onto another long week coming up, so hopefully some garage time over the weekend to make up for the lack of time during the week. Some final photos of the built in I made for under the cnc table to free up some ever dwindling garage space. Not bad, still learning, but I always enjoy the process of coming up with an idea, identifying the problems, and coming up with solutions.
