Bed renovation in Libertyville, done in one visit.

We stripped the bed to clean soil, re-cut the line against the cobblestone edging, trimmed everything back so each shrub has its own space, and finished in red mulch. Client wanted red to pick up the brick on the house, and it works.

Walkway rebuild in Gurnee.

The old path was those scalloped round pavers, sunk and swallowed by weeds. We pulled it all, set a proper base, and ran a paver walkway from the sidewalk to the door. Beds on both sides are stripped and prepped, plantings go in next.

A walkway is one of the cheaper hardscape projects and it changes the first impression of the whole house. zavteklandscape.com

Part two of the Gurnee project, the side yard.

This was the strip nobody used: hoses, weeds, bare dirt along the foundation. It's now a paver patio that connects the front walk to the back of the house. Same border, same base work as the front.

Almost every house has a dead zone like this. They're usually the easiest space on the property to turn into something useful.

This one's from Gurnee. First photo is sod day. Old lawn stripped out, ground regraded, first rows going down. Second photo is the same property a few weeks later after proper watering and the first few cuts.

People assume a lawn this far gone takes a full season to fix. With sod it's a few weeks, and it usually costs less than folks expect. If your lawn is past saving, ask us about it before you spend another year fighting it.

Before and after from a backyard we finished in Highland Park.

The yard sloped away from the porch, so we cut the grade, built a curved retaining wall to hold it, and set a circular paver patio sized around the fire pit. Full stone base underneath, compacted in lifts, that part matters more than the pavers on top if you want it flat in five years.
