Looking for recommendations for a structural engineer with experience designing all-concrete residential homes.
I’m in the planning phase of a custom home in Sparta Tn and have already narrowed the structural options. I’m looking for an engineer who can perform the structural calculations and determine the best overall system based on strength, cost, efficiency, and ease of construction.
The wall system will be either:
* Precast concrete walls, or
* CMU (block) walls fully reinforced and filled with concrete.
The floor system will be one of the following:
* Precast concrete floor planks,
* Metal stud framing with reinforced cast-in-place concrete floors, or
* Steel floor joists with reinforced cast-in-place concrete floors.
I’m looking for someone who can:
* Perform complete load calculations.
* Compare these systems and recommend the best structural approach.
* Design all beams, columns, lintels, connections, and foundations.
* Specify reinforcement requirements.
* Create detailed structural plans and material schedules showing exactly what goes where.
I’m not looking for someone to simply stamp plans. I want an engineer who can evaluate these construction methods and help optimize the entire structural design before construction.
