☀️ Repairs summer damage
❄️ Improves winter hardiness
🌿 Promotes a faster spring green-up

Weekly Wednesday Tip:

For central MN, mid-August through September is an excellent seeding window. The soil is warm enough for germination while cooler fall weather helps seedlings establish. Keep the top ½ inch of soil consistently moist—usually light watering 2–3 times per day initially—rather than soaking it.

Monday's Question:
How long does grass seed take to grow in MN?

In central Minnesota, grass seed usually takes about 5–21 days to germinate, depending heavily on the grass type and moisture.

For a typical MN lawn mix, you'll often see the first green sprouts in 7–14 days, but it can take 3–4 weeks for everything to fill in. A newly seeded lawn generally needs 6–8+ weeks before it starts looking established.

For central MN, mid-August through early September is an excellent seeding window. The soil is warm enough for germination while cooler fall weather helps seedlings establish. Keep the top ½ inch of soil consistently moist—usually light watering 2–3 times per day initially—rather than soaking it.

Weekly Wednesday Tip:

Aeration loosens compacted soil, giving grass roots better access to oxygen, water, and nutrients. With more room to grow, roots can develop deeper and stronger, helping the lawn become thicker, healthier, and more resilient to heat and drought.

08/10/2026

Monday's Question:
What does aeration actually do for my lawn?

** Relieves soil compaction caused by foot traffic, mowing, etc.
** Allows roots to get more oxygen.
** Helps water soak in instead of running off.
** Improves fertilizer uptake.
** Encourages deeper, healthier root growth.

We also offer:
Microbial aeration -- a biological method used to relieve soil compaction, reduce thatch, and boost soil health. By applying organic carbon sources, enzymes, and beneficial microbes, the treatment breaks down organic matter, creating natural, oxygen-rich channels in the soil.

Weekly Wednesday Tip:

Late summer/early fall is the best time for lawn repair

Whether your lawn has thin spots, bare patches, or areas that just didn't make it through the summer, repairing them now sets you up for a thicker, healthier lawn next spring.

🌱 Don't wait until fall is almost over. The sooner repairs begin, the more time your new grass has to establish strong roots before winter.
