Our team was proud to sponsor and attend the 2026 Mayor's Prayer Breakfast for the City of Baker, featuring Mayor Darnell Waites as this year's guest speaker.

Mornings like this are a great reminder of why community matters to us: gathering with local leaders and neighbors to start the day focused on gratitude and service. Thank you to the City of Baker for hosting, and to Mayor Waites for a message that set the tone for the room.

We're grateful for the chance to support events that bring our community together, and we're looking forward to the next one.

Members of our team and summer interns attended today's joint ASCE/LES luncheon on the I-10 Baton Rouge CMAR Project, which Forte and Tablada was proud to sponsor. The session covered project scope & strategy, maintenance of traffic, construction sequencing, and the road ahead for one of the region's biggest transportation projects. Great to see our interns getting a front-row seat to this level of work. Thanks to ASCE Louisiana Section and Louisiana Engineering Society for hosting!

Ten years ago today, the gauge on the Amite River at Denham Springs read 45.52 feet, and it was still climbing. Flood stage is 29 feet. The previous record was 41.5 feet.

Numbers like that don't mean much until you watch the water come up your own driveway.

By the time it was over, about 15 members of our team had water in their homes, and our Denham Springs office flooded too. One team member's house flooded so badly that he and his family spent months sharing a house with fourteen people while repairs were underway. Cars, furniture, tools, photo albums, the first several feet of everyone's life, all gone over a single weekend.

Those first days were chaos. Cell towers were down, so we ran a phone tree, then tried Facebook, then email, then anything else we could think of. Each morning, we went over a list with our CEO, checking off who we'd heard from.
But people just started showing up.

Joey Coco, now our CEO, spent those first days in his boat with our client Mike Telich, pulling neighbors and strangers out of their homes.

Adam Jurey had accepted a job with us two weeks earlier and hadn't started yet. His house flooded. He called to ask if the offer still stood. In his words: "I called John to make sure I was still good to come on board with everything that had happened. He said, 'Yeah, if you can run a mop and a squeegee. We had an office flood.' There was never an issue when I had to leave or take care of something. Help was always offered. It really made me feel like this was a family, because F&T let me do what I needed to do at the time for my family."

Within days we had sign-up sheets going and roughly five crews rotating through houses, cutting out drywall and hauling decades of belongings to the curb. Others went out on their own to help friends and family, and the people who weren't gutting houses were collecting donations and making sandwiches for the crews who were.

Our Shreveport office took up a collection, sent a gift card to every affected employee, then drove down and joined the gutting crews themselves. It was one of the kindest things any of us have been part of.

What stood out most was how fast, and how completely, everyone showed up to help, even people who'd lost everything themselves. Ten years is long enough for the memory of just how bad it was to fade, but not nearly long enough to forget how people responded.

To everyone who launched a boat, swung a hammer, made a sandwich, wrote a check, or just answered the phone so someone would know you were okay: thank you. We remember.

📷 Photos shared by our employees. Thank you to everyone who dug these out.

Forte and Tablada was proud to serve as a presenting sponsor of the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce's 2026 State of the Parish. Our very own Brad Holleman, P.E., P.L.S. had the honor of presenting at this year's event in front of 300+ community members.

Randy Delatte - Parish President shared updates on the work being done across the parish, from roads and drainage to flood protection and long-term planning, all focused on improving everyday life for Livingston Parish residents.

Thank you to the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce for putting together such a great event, and to everyone who came out to hear firsthand what's happening across the parish. We are proud to be a part of the work happening here!

🚧 Groundbreaking on Nicholson Dr! 🚧

We joined Mayor-President Sid Edwards and the MOVEBR team to break ground on the Nicholson Dr. Segment 1 project. This capacity improvement will widen Nicholson Dr. from Brightside Lane to Gourrier Road into a 4-lane suburban roadway.

Forte and Tablada is proud to serve as the design consultant on this $28 million investment in East Baton Rouge Parish's infrastructure, helping move our region forward safely.

Excited to see this project come to life for the community!

Today was a beautiful day for the Cook Road Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!

After 15 years under contract with Livingston Parish, this $17 million construction project is officially open! Cook Road now connects LA Hwy 16 (Pete's Hwy) to Juban Crossing, featuring a multi-lane roundabout at the Pete's Hwy/Cook Road intersection and a 4-lane divided boulevard widened and extended to link up with the Juban Crossing Development.

This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the F&T staff who worked on this project from initial discussions all the way through construction. Thank you for everything you poured into making this a reality.

We're also grateful to our partners who helped bring this vision to life, including Livingston Parish Government, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), Richard Price Contracting, City of Denham Springs - Mayor & City Council, Federal Highway Administration, and Facility Planning and Control, along with everyone else who touched this project over the years!
