For Jonathan, CDPC started with a simple priority: finding a place with real opportunity and real people who care.

As he and his wife were starting a family, he wanted more than just a job. He wanted growth, stability, and a team that genuinely invests in each other. He found all of that at ClearDefense.

Now serving as General Manager of our East Knoxville office, Jonathan says the most meaningful part of his role is the ability to positively impact his team’s lives. For him, it is about being part of something bigger than himself and helping others grow into their potential.

Outside of work, life revolves around family and hockey. A longtime fan of the sport, Jonathan always wanted to play growing up and finally picked it up in his 30s and is joining a local men’s league this fall!

His proudest accomplishment is at home, growing his family with his wife and their two boys, Jonah and Benjamin. At work, it is those breakthrough moments when someone achieves a goal they once thought was out of reach.
He leads with a servant mindset, focusing on empowering his team instead of micromanaging them. He believes his job is to support, develop, and create space for others to succeed while continuing to grow himself as a leader.

His advice for new team members is simple. Take the opportunity, lean in, ask questions, and give it everything you have. And buckle up, because we are taking this thing to the moon.

For this leader, it all comes back to culture.

What originally inspired Austin C. to join CDPC was simple, but powerful. A culture that puts customers and employees first and moves with urgency to serve others. During the interview process, one phrase stood out and stayed with him: “light others’ candles.” From day one in leadership, that message became reality.

Now serving as General Manager of our Kansas City branch, his favorite part of the role is working directly with his team. Whether it is time in the field, one on one conversations, or simply sharing life experiences, he takes pride in having a direct impact on the growth of the people around him.

Outside of work, he proudly embraces his title as the “spice king.” From hot sauce to jalapenos on everything, he is always searching for the next level of heat.

One of his proudest moments was being promoted to General Manager just two months after joining as an MIT. That early trust and confidence from leadership reinforced that he was exactly where he was meant to be.

He leads by living out the Active Ingredients daily. Serving others, holding high standards, staying honest and transparent, and continuously looking for ways to improve himself and his team. He also gives back locally through volunteering with KC Pet Project.

His advice to new team members is to forget what you think you know about pest control. Come in with an open mind, work hard, embrace new challenges, and lean into the people around you. You will quickly realize you are surrounded by something special.

What started as a move to Charlotte turned into a career and a leadership journey shaped by people who believed in him.

Nick A. originally joined the CDPC team to relocate from Columbia, SC, but what made him stay was the leadership.

Mentors like Chase and Jonathan didn’t just invest in his performance; they invested in him as a person. That support helped him see his own potential and sparked a desire to lead others the same way: to “light the next candle.”

In a full circle, Nick is now the General Manager of our Columbia office, with his focus being on building a culture where people feel supported, challenged, and pushed to grow. For him, the most rewarding part of leadership is watching team members step into their potential.

One of his proudest milestones includes helping open the Baton Rouge office and contributing to the development of internal mission and purpose statements, work that helped shape how the company operates today.

Outside of work, he spent three years living on Oahu, just outside of Pearl Harbor, an experience that shaped his perspective in a lasting way.

He leads with humility, consistency, and a strong belief that great leadership comes from staying close to the work and the people doing it. To him, innovation and accountability come naturally when you truly listen to your team.
His advice for new team members? Don’t just learn the job, learn what “good” looks like here. The people who succeed are the ones who care deeply about what we’re building, not just what they’re doing.
