WE’RE GROWING AND WE’RE HIRING.

Kern Architects is looking to add one or more talented architectural professionals to our team in Baton Rouge.

We have a strong pipeline of exciting commercial projects getting underway, and we’re looking for someone who wants to do more than simply fill a position. We’re building a growing architecture firm with opportunities for our team members to grow their skills, take on greater responsibility, and help shape what our firm becomes.

Who we’re looking for:
• Architect or unlicensed architectural professional
• Approximately 1–5 years of experience preferred
• Strong Revit skills
• Commercial architecture experience is a plus
• Someone who takes ownership of their work and enjoys being part of a collaborative team

This position will work closely with our Project Managers on the design and production of commercial projects throughout Louisiana and the Gulf South.

A workplace that supports member service is rarely defined by a single space—it’s shaped by how all the pieces work together.

For Meritus Credit Union, this infill project brought administrative offices and a dedicated call center for ITM-related member correspondence into a unified environment. The design challenge wasn’t just accommodating function, but balancing it with comfort, acoustics, and a consistent interior identity that reflects the credit union’s brand.

In collaboration with CDI Solutions, the workspace was developed to support focus where needed, reduce noise and distraction, and create a setting where staff can move naturally between collaboration and member support roles. The result is an environment that performs quietly in the background while still presenting a strong, cohesive presence.

We’re continuing these conversations at Booth 506 in the Storyville Exhibit Hall at the Luminate Credit Union Conference.

Our partnership with UNO Federal Credit Union focused on creating a branch environment that better supports the university community while enhancing the experience for members and staff. Through a collaborative design process with interior design partner CDI Solutions, the renovation introduced a refreshed aesthetic, improved functionality, and spaces that better serve both members and staff.

The finished project reflects UNO FCU’s commitment to serving its campus community while providing a space that supports future growth and evolving member needs. It’s always rewarding to see a project move from early concepts to a place that is actively being used and enjoyed.

This new branch for EPIC Federal Credit Union in Covington was envisioned as more than a financial institution—it was designed to establish a lasting presence within the growing Northshore community. Working closely with CEO Shelley Sanders and her team, the project focused from the earliest planning conversations on creating a branch that supports efficient operations, delivers a comfortable member experience, and provides the flexibility needed for future growth.

Now complete, the building demonstrates how strategic planning and thoughtful design can create a welcoming environment that serves members today while positioning EPIC FCU for what comes next.
