Last fall, we shared the stunning transformation of a home’s exterior, which featured the removal of a large front deck. At that time, we left the side deck as a future project. Now, the moment has arrived to breathe new life into this 16x30 deck! Over the past few weeks, our team has been hard at work rehabbing the area. We began by removing a small raised section and lowering it to ensure a seamless flow. Next, we stripped all the pressure-treated decking and railings, preparing for an updated look. The existing stairs are being replaced with a new winding staircase designed to withstand the elements, helping to guard against damage from snow and ice. Our customer has chosen Trex Transcends "Havana Gold" decking, and we’re excited to be installing the Muzata black cable rail system next week. As always, our attention to detail shines through with the decking being picture-framed to eliminate any unsightly butt joints. Stay tuned for the final reveal!

As we put the finishing touches on the deck makeover, we are eagerly shifting our focus to the next exciting project. We have successfully laid the foundation and backfilled for a 16x28 one-story addition in Barrington. Initially, our plan was to connect the existing basement to the new addition. However, we encountered ledge that complicated matters. Due to budget considerations, we opted not to hammer or blast, so we'll be moving forward with a crawl space that will seamlessly connect to the basement. This addition will feature a cozy living room and an office, complete with a cathedral ceiling that opens up to a loft area above the office. We can’t wait to complete the deck and embark on this beautiful new space for our client.

🌼 Spring kicked off our journey to restore a camp that was hit hard by a microburst, and we’ve been hard at work all summer crafting its comeback! As our Florida customer sets to visit soon, we’re thrilled to reveal that we’re almost done bringing back the camp's charm while keeping those treasured memories intact.

We’ve beautifully restored the walls—with some key upgrades that are turning heads! Just take a look at the stunning tiled shower from Wilder Flooring that adds a touch of luxury to the space, along with our revamped linoleum floor that’s both stylish and durable. And here's a fun discovery we made: the toilet was rocking precariously due to a compromised floor joist, held together by a PVC pipe and some good old duct tape—talk about a surprise makeover!

Exciting changes are on the horizon for the kitchen as well! We’re swapping out the old cabinetry for stylish Wellborn Forest cabinetry complemented by a gorgeous granite or quartz countertop that will make meal prep a dream. Every detail is being thoughtfully considered to blend modern upgrades with rustic charm. Can’t wait to share more as we wrap things up! It’s shaping up to be a camp experience like no other. 🌲💪

We have a customer we do alot of work for. They reached out looking for a new set of maintenance free stairs on the front of the house. The existing stairs had a small landing, narrow staircase and the bottom tread was only a couple of inches off the ground. They choose Trex Transcends "Lava Rock" decking with the Trex Transcends black rails with round black balusters. They wider stairs give a much more welcoming feel when you approach the front door. Sadly we forgot a before picture. But we got one on the way out.

We're excited to share the completion of a stunning 12x35 deck project in Greenland! After showcasing the finished deck, we hinted at some upcoming enhancements to the siding—well, the wait is over! The homeowners, who love spending time on their sailboat, made a fantastic choice by upgrading from the faded yellow to CertainTeed's beautiful "Newport Bay."

Initially, the customers were hesitant about the investment, but once we stripped away the old siding, it became clear why this upgrade was essential. We discovered significant issues, including poorly sealed windows, missing house wrap, and areas with substantial rot due to the original builder's subpar workmanship.

Now, with every detail corrected, the homeowners can enjoy their revitalized space with confidence, knowing that they’ve made a wise decision for years to come. Here’s to many more sailing adventures and peaceful moments on their new deck!

This past year, we proudly completed a beautiful home in New Durham. Recently, we had the pleasure of returning to the property to enhance it further with the addition of a 20x20 pressure-treated deck at the back. To optimize the aesthetic appeal, we cleverly laid out the decking in four sections, effectively eliminating unsightly butt seams. We also ensured durability by opting to screw down the boards rather than nailing them. Regrettably, we missed the chance to capture a photo of the stunning mountain view that can be enjoyed while relaxing on the deck. It’s always a joy to create spaces where memories can be made!

We recently completed an exciting project for a valued repeat customer, transforming their deck into a stunning outdoor space. The original deck, measuring approximately 10x30 feet, had two different elevations that made arranging patio furniture a challenge. It featured aging first-generation Trex decking and a pergola that had seen better days.

After dismantling the old deck, we constructed a new, sleek 12x35 feet single-level deck. For this upgrade, we chose Aztek "Cypress" decking paired with hidden fasteners, enhancing the deck’s clean look. To ensure durability and visual appeal, we picture framed the decking into three sections, effectively minimizing the unsightly butt seams. These seams, if not managed properly, can lead to unattractive gaps as the composite material expands and contracts over time.

Our client also opted to remove the bump-out where a gas fireplace once stood, replacing it instead with a cozy pellet stove. Upon discovering that the entire back of the house needed residing, they decided to refresh the look with a new siding color: Mastic "Newport Bay." We can’t wait to share the final pictures in the coming weeks, as this project is truly one for the books!

After successfully completing the home in Barrington, we've now turned our attention to a cherished family summer camp in another part of Barrington. Last fall, a powerful microburst took down a 32-inch diameter pine tree, causing significant damage to this beloved 1950s structure. Our team is dedicated to restoring the camp to its original charm, embracing its rustic character.

Transitioning from projects where everything is meticulously level and plumb has been quite a challenge. Here, we’ve had to adapt our mindset, learning to navigate floors that can vary by three or more inches. Yet, our clients continuously remind us that these quirks are precisely what give the camp its unique charm and nostalgic appeal. We're excited to breathe new life into this treasured space!

Just as the finishing touches were being made to the elegant exterior, the excitement buzzed in the air for the grand reveal of the Barrington home. Movers swiftly unloaded their truck, bringing in the final pieces to complete this stunning residence. Spanning an impressive 3,600 sq ft, this house showcases a distinct feature: a Stiltz elevator, providing seamless access from the basement to the second floor, ensuring wheelchair accessibility throughout. Each room is bathed in natural light, thanks to oversized windows that create an inviting atmosphere. The exquisite interior painting was skillfully completed by C&R Painting of Dover, NH, while Wilder Flooring of Northwood, NH, delivered stunning flooring and tile work. Inside, you’ll be captivated by details such as a sweeping hardwood staircase adorned with an open balcony, elegant crown molding, and refined chair rails. With four generous bedrooms and 3 1/2 beautifully designed baths, this home is a true testament to luxury and thoughtful design.

It has been an eventful couple of weeks at the Barrington house! The rough-ins for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems have all been successfully completed, paving the way for the next phase of this exciting project. We’ve also finalized insulation, utilizing a blend of spray foam, fiberglass, and blown-in cellulose to ensure compliance with energy codes. Now, we’re set to start drywall installation next week, marking a significant step forward. Meanwhile, our dedicated siding team has made impressive strides despite the chilly weather. The home is taking on a beautiful Autumn Yellow hue from CertainTeed, complemented by GAF’s deep Hunter Green shingles atop the roof. Exciting progress all around!
