Recently, the Akron Executives Association (AEA) had the opportunity to host the International Executives Association (IEA) conference locally!

We were proud to have Adrianne Tanner, one of our ISA Certified Arborists, play an active role throughout the three-day conference by volunteering and helping make the event a success. Lisa Devenport, our President, also had the opportunity to attend part of the conference and connect with other members.

The three-day event featured speaker sessions, networking opportunities, and conversations focused on growing as business leaders. Topics included Using AI in Your Business, Leading Successfully Through Change, Developing Trust in Business, and much more.

Members from executive associations across the United States and Canada came together to learn, share ideas, and build connections. The AEA also holds weekly meetings focused not only on networking, but on finding ways to grow and give back to the community.

We’re proud of Adrianne and Lisa for representing Barberton Tree Service and being part of such a great event!

Congratulations to our Tree Hero of the Week, Sergeant First Class Wagnitz!

At Barberton Tree, we declare a Tree Hero of the Week during our safety meeting. Today, we are recognizing Aaron W. for many years of outstanding service, unwavering loyalty, and exceptional professionalism.

As our longest-serving foreman, Aaron sets the standard for what it means to be a true professional. He takes pride in everything he does, knows his crew’s equipment inside and out, and never backs down from a tough job. When something needs done right, Aaron is the guy to get it done!

Beyond his incredible work ethic, Aaron is a natural leader who brings out the best in the people around him. He represents the old-school values that helped build BTS into what it is today, and his commitment to serving others extends beyond the job. Aaron has also served with the Ohio Army National Guard for nearly two decades, where his tree care expertise has even been called upon when needed.

Sergeant First Class Wagnitz, thank you for your unwavering loyalty to BTS, and for your time serving our country! We’re proud to have you on our team!

The Keep Akron Beautiful team is always so great to work with!🌳🍂

🌳 The ABCs of Trees! 🌳

By educating our community today, we’re helping inspire the next generation of tree stewards who will care for, protect, and benefit from these incredible trees for years to come.

And the best part? These are all trees you can find right here in our city!

This week’s letter is H for Hackberry Tree!

The Hackberry Tree is a tough, medium-to-large shade tree with distinctive warty or corky bark and small berries that birds love.

The leaves have an asymmetrical base, meaning one side of the leaf attaches slightly lower than the other. They're also coarsely toothed. Once you know what you're looking for, that's a pretty easy way to identify one.

A huge thank you to Barberton Tree Service Inc. for taking us through the whole alphabet of trees again in such a fun and engaging way!

We’re so grateful for your continued partnership and collaboration as we work together to keep Akron clean, green, and beautiful.

Stay tuned each week as we make our way through the ABCs of Trees! 🌳📚

On Saturday, September 26th, we attended the 2026 Barberton Mum Festival. It was such a beautiful day at Lake Anna, and we were so grateful for everyone who had a chance to stop by our table. We saw lots of familiar faces, and many new ones.

Once again, we held a “Guess the Amount of Acorns in the Jar” contest to win a $50 Amazon Giftcard. We had a tie between Cody and Sebastian! The correct guess was 179, and both of these contestants answered 175. Congratulations, and both winners have been contacted!
