That’s a wrap! Foreman Brent Hardy and the team at our Portland Jetport project has completed the final phase of work. With this placement, the N.S. Giles team, along with Auburn Concrete, has placed 15,000 yards of concrete over the course of two years. That is enough concrete to cover a football field end-zone to end-zone with a 7” thick slab! Oh, and they did it all with zero recordable injuries 😉.

Congratulations team!

Last week, N.S. Giles had the opportunity to attend Maine Construction Careers Day in Bath. High schools and technical schools from across southern Maine came together for the event, giving students the chance to explore future careers in construction and skilled trades.

As students made their way through the concourse, they had the opportunity to meet with, talk to, and get hands-on experience with more than a dozen of Maine’s leading construction and trades companies.

Events like Maine Construction Careers Day are a great way to introduce the next generation to the rewarding opportunities available in the construction industry. We’re proud to be a part of that effort and look forward to seeing where these future tradespeople go next.

We were thrilled to meet so many students and share a little bit about what we do here at N.S. Giles. We hope you had as much fun as we did getting an up-close look at our 46-meter concrete pump truck! See you on the next pour!
