I keep properties clean and in orderly condition and tend furnace, air conditioner and boiler to provide heat, cool air and hot water for tenants. I maintain building, perform minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools. I notify management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating and ventilating
equipment. I operate hand tools and power tools such as air hammers, small mechanical hoists and measuring equipment. I clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces and clean up rubble and debris I calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements and/or work orders. I build frameworks and other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools. I fasten drywall panels to the inside framework of houses and other buildings. I prepare drywall panels for painting by taping and finishing joints and imperfections. I install structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, flooring and trim or hardware, using carpenter's tools. I finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses and buildings using paint, hand tools, and paneling. I fill cracks and defects in plaster or plasterboard and sand patch using patching plaster, trowel and sanding tools. I perform a variety of minor plumbing, electrical, welding and concrete mixing work.
