Every house seems to have that one room.

You know the one. The rest of the house feels perfectly fine, but that bedroom upstairs is either way too hot or freezing cold.

And somehow it's always the room somebody complains about.

There are a few reasons this can happen. It could be an airflow issue, something going on with the ductwork, or even how well that part of the house is insulated.

If you're constantly adjusting the thermostat trying to make one room comfortable, it might be worth having someone take a look.

Apparently October can't decide what kind of weather it wants to give us.

Saturday was cool and sunny, Sunday was nothing but rain, and Monday looks like we might finally see a little sunshine again.

And just when you think fall is here to stay, we're heading right back toward 80 degrees on Tuesday.

Only in Maryland can you go from wanting a sweatshirt and a blanket to wondering if you need to turn the AC back on.

At this point, we're just letting the weather do its thing and keeping both the heat and AC ready.

No early mornings. No freezing nights. No working overtime. Basically just sitting around since spring doing absolutely nothing.

Vacation’s over.

Before we get into the part of the year where your heat is running every day, give it a chance to wake up and make sure everything is working the way it should.

We’re getting into that time of year when the mornings are getting colder and turning the heat on doesn’t seem so crazy anymore.

If you haven’t really tested yours yet, now’s the time.

Let it run. Make sure the house is warming up like it should. Listen for anything that sounds a little off.
Because finding out there’s a problem now is a whole lot better than finding out on the first REALLY cold night when everyone else is calling too.

This weird in-between weather actually has one advantage.

Your AC isn’t running nonstop anymore, and we’re not quite into the cold weather where the heat is running every day.

That makes now a pretty good time to make sure everything is working the way it should.

Because finding out your heat has a problem on a mild October afternoon is a whole lot better than finding out on the first freezing morning of the year.

Not so fast...

After the cold weather we’ve had, it definitely feels like AC season should be over. But Maryland has other plans.

We still have some warm days ahead of us, which means that AC might have a little more work to do before it gets its winter break.

So enjoy the cooler days when we get them, open those windows when you can, but don’t say goodbye to the AC just yet.

Maryland weather really can’t make up its mind.

A few cold, rainy days have us reaching for the heat, and now we’re headed right back toward warmer weather.

Heat today. AC tomorrow. Windows open somewhere in between.

This time of year keeps both sides of your system busy, so if something doesn’t seem quite right when you switch from one to the other, don’t ignore it.

Around here, you really do have to be ready for anything.

Be honest, we’ve all done this.

The house feels too warm, so you walk over to the thermostat and drop it WAY down because somehow setting it to 60 feels like it’ll cool the house faster.

Unfortunately, your thermostat doesn’t work like a gas pedal.

Setting it lower doesn’t make the AC cool any faster. It just tells the system to keep running until it reaches that temperature.

Same goes for the heat. Cranking it up to 80 isn’t going to warm the house any faster either.

Set it where you actually want it and let the system do its thing.

And maybe stop taking your frustration out on the thermostat. It’s doing the best it can.

75 years. That’s kind of crazy when you really think about it.

Frosty Refrigeration has been around since 1951. A lot has changed since then. The equipment is different, houses are different, and thankfully the technology is a whole lot better. 😂

But the important stuff really hasn’t changed.

Show up. Do good work. Be fair with people. Take care of your customers.

We’ve been lucky enough to serve generations of families over the years, and we don’t take that for granted. Every call, every recommendation to a neighbor, every review and every customer who calls us again means something.

75 years later, we’re still here. And we’re pretty proud of that. ❤️
