Georgia's fall storm season is closer than you think — and most homeowners aren't ready for it.

September and October bring some of the most damaging storms of the year to North and Central Georgia. Heavy rain, high winds, and the tail ends of Atlantic hurricanes can cause serious damage fast — and if your home isn't ready, the cost goes up in a hurry.

Here's what to do before storm season hits:

Clean your gutters. Clogged gutters are one of the biggest causes of water intrusion. When water can't drain, it backs up under your roofline and into your walls.

That's why our team uses thermal imaging cameras on every water damage job. Thermal imaging detects temperature differences in walls, floors, and ceilings — and moisture shows up as a cold spot that's invisible to the naked eye.

What looks like a small leak on the surface can have moisture hiding behind drywall, under flooring, or inside a ceiling cavity. If we don't find it, it doesn't dry. And moisture that doesn't dry becomes mold.
