The holidays are over but it’s never too early to start planning for next year. While it’s fresh in your mind was there anything that your plumbing was lacking while you were hosting? Is it time to add that extra bath or new kitchen counters? Maybe time to remodel the hall bath room? Do you still have a wood grain toilet seat? Or maybe it is time to start planning for spring and you need new hose bibs or more hose bibs installed. Stay one step ahead of your plumbing needs and avoid those costly emergency calls or waiting weeks to get on the schedule during busy times of year.

Faucets actually make great presents. One of the things you interact with the most in your house is your kitchen sink. A lot of people don’t realize how many different options they have with kitchen faucets. There are many kinds of sprayers, pull downs, soap dispensers and other accessories. I like a high goose neck faucet with a pull out sprayer some people like the low spout with separate sprayer. Have you ever considered having two soap dispensers, one for hand soap and one for dish soap? How about touch free or touch activated faucets? A kitchen faucet is a gift that will be appreciated by everyone in the family for years to come.

Holiday cooking is great until it’s time for the dishes. Here are some ideas that will hopefully help you avoid any costly plumbing issues this holiday season.
#1. Set out a grease collection jar or container before you start cooking to make sure you keep grease from going down your drain.
#2. If you have guest chefs make sure they know your rules for food disposal and if you have a garbage disposal or not.
#3. If your drains are slow now it is a good idea to have us snake them before your guests are in town so that they don’t clog up and ruin your valuable time with family.

House guests that only show up once a year will hop in your shower and expect it to work. But what if it doesn’t? Fixtures that are not used often may have mineral deposits from your hard water that can cause parts to stick or might clog aerators and shower heads. It is a good idea to give everything a test run before your guests show up. Better yet, you should try to use the fixtures periodically throughout the year to keep them working properly.
