Exciting progress in Ridgecrest, California, at China Lake Junior High School!



China Lake Junior High School’s new classroom buildings provide more space to support students, empower teachers, and inspire future learning. Colombo is proud to help build spaces where education can thrive.

The project includes two new single-story permanent modular buildings:
• Building C: A 10,980 sf facility featuring three classrooms, a teacher workroom, custodial closets, and student rooms.
• Building E: A 6,865 sf facility featuring six classrooms, storage rooms, a life-skills room designed to support students with disabilities, and restroom.
• Additional improvements include two new basketball courts, 93 new parking spaces – including EV charging stations – and resurfacing of the existing parking areas to repair earthquake-damaged asphalt.

A special thank you to our hardworking project team – Project Manager Jeff Crafton, Project Superintendent Juan Gonzalez, Phase 1 Administrative Assistant Susie Contreras, and Phase 2 Administrative Assistant Priscilla Phillips – for their dedication and hard work in bringing this project to fruition!

Bakersfield College Agricultural Sciences Center Reaches 90% Completion!

Construction continues to advance on Bakersfield College’s new Agricultural Sciences Center, with the project now approximately 90% complete!
Our Project Team is diligently completing the facility’s final architectural finishes and building systems. Current activities include installing the remaining metal panel system and perforated shade screens; completing storefront caulking and brake metal; installing lighting and plumbing fixtures; applying final paint; and finishing cabinets, casework, and countertops.
Crews are also installing ceiling tiles, completing fiberglass-reinforced panels, beginning flooring, landscaping, and placing owner-furnished equipment. With construction entering its final stages, the team is balancing the HVAC and plumbing systems and preparing the building for completion.
Congratulations to our outstanding Project Team—Angel Higareda, Project Manager/Senior Superintendent; Cory Schuessler, Project Superintendent; and Serenity Monclova, Administrative Assistant—for their hard work and dedication to bring this important project to life!
We are proud to help deliver this state-of-the-art, all-electric facility in support of Bakersfield College’s top-ranked Agricultural Sciences program. Follow our progress as we approach this exciting project milestone!

Colombo Construction Company’s project team was proud to join Kern Community College District and Porterville College administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community partners for a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the college’s new Student Services Building.
This important facility will provide a welcoming, centralized space where students can conveniently access essential services and resources that support their academic success and overall college experience.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Colombo’s dedicated project team—Jeff Crafton, Project Manager; Jay Gonzalez, Project Superintendent; and Adam Lencioni, Project Engineer—for their commitment to the successful delivery of this project.
We are honored to partner with Porterville College to bring this exciting vision to life and look forward to sharing construction updates as the new Student Services Building takes shape.

Ollivier Gymnasium Project Update ( )
Construction is moving full speed ahead at the new Ollivier Gymnasium! Colombo Construction is proud to be making significant progress on this exciting project for the Greenfield Union School District, creating a state-of-the-art facility that will provide students with exceptional spaces for physical education, indoor athletics, school assemblies, and community events for years to come.

A sincere thank you to the Greenfield community, District leadership, school staff, our trade partners, and the dedicated Colombo Construction project team for their continued collaboration and commitment throughout this project.

Wasco Union High School District breaks ground on the new FFA Ag Farm – Colombo Construction was honored to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Wasco High School Ag Farm on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. This exciting project will provide students with expanded opportunities for hands-on agricultural education and workforce development. We are grateful to be a part of this important investment in education and the future of our community.
