This morning, we joined the Kern County Superintendent of Schools (KCSOS) in celebrating the dedication of the newly modernized C.W. Richardson Child Development Center in Bakersfield.
The Richardson Center provides full-day child development services and specialized early childhood education for children with special needs across Kern County. Designed by Ordiz-Melby Architects and constructed by Colombo Construction Company, the campus-wide modernization encompassed six buildings totaling approximately 32,816 square feet. Improvements included an expanded and remodeled administration building, four classroom wings with 19 classrooms, a multipurpose building, playgrounds, restrooms, offices, and new parking, walkways, and ornamental fencing.
We are proud to have helped create a welcoming environment for the children, families, and staff who rely on this center. Thank you to our outstanding project team—Senior Project Manager Francisco Garcia, Senior Project Superintendent Matt Kelbaugh, and Administrative Assistant Susie Contreras—for their dedication and excellent work.
