From the bees, to the birds and hawks and of course to the sun ☀️ August was filled with life and struggle against the triple digit heat for practically the entire month. My flowers for sure took a hit but are slowly recovering and winding down our second growing season here Azle Flower Farm. So grateful to my CSA Members this year trusting me with your flowers. 🫶🏼🌸🐝

I’m trying to focus more on soil health for obvious reasons. One of the quickest and cost effective methods is to conduct an at home soil test. A few lessons learned: 1. Read instructions BEFORE performing test 🤦🏻‍♀️ 2. Have “Readers” nearby when .. well reading 🤓3. Consider sending soil in to professionals for testing 🧪 4. That’s basically it 😂😬

A little August beauty from the farm. 🌸

The Texas heat has certainly kept us on our toes, but the flowers keep showing up—and I’m grateful for every single one.

From the field to the bouquet to wherever these blooms eventually land, this is the part of Sandy Acre I love most: watching locally grown flowers bring a little joy beyond the garden.

I’m excited for where these blooms are headed next. 🌿

Our CSA Summer Bouquet 3 was full of summer color. ☀️Gomphrena, Scabiosa, Ageratum and the last of the Summer Sunflowers 🌻 came together beautifully. The last bouquet was shared with Pro Libertate Coffee Co. for being a superb location for my CSA pick up location. Their coffee is a bonus! ☕️👌🏼

Following from my last post. Had to capture season✌🏻. This was my first time overwintering flowers and it was TOUGH! Texas is not kind to flower farmers. I covered and uncovered my field 8+ times. But my Snapdragons and Statice came through! And I will forever grow Lisianthus. Trying from seed this next season!

Summer CSA bouquet✌🏼in the books!🌻Thanks to another local flower farm and flower friend Danielle Brandon I was able to harvest enough zinnias to complete my bouquets along with my sunflowers, ageratum, statice, yarrow and cosmos. My goal is to support local where possible!👏🏼Zinnias can be tricky in the cooler and I’m still learning Betty’s temperature controls so the next best, darkest and coolest spot was in my bedroom.😎
