If you want to reduce noise between rooms, here are 3 insulation options for better sound control, from the most common to one of the best:
1️⃣ Fiberglass Insulation
The most common and affordable option. It helps absorb sound inside the wall cavity and works well for both homes and offices.
2️⃣ Sound & Fire Insulation
Designed to improve sound control while also providing added fire resistance. A great option for offices, bedrooms, and spaces where privacy matters.
3️⃣ Mineral Wool / Rockwool ⭐️
My favorite. It’s denser than fiberglass, provides excellent sound absorption, and offers great fire resistance. A great choice for offices, home theaters, studios, and rooms where better sound control really matters.
But remember: good sound control isn’t just about the insulation. Proper framing, insulation, drywall installation, and sealing around penetrations all make a big difference.
