Controller – Community Association Management

Bold Solutions is a leading community association management firm seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Controller to lead our financial operations and support our continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee all accounting and financial reporting for 100+ managed community associations
• Supervise and streamline accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for all clients
• Develop and maintain budgets in coordination with association Board of Directors
• Manage cash flow, banking, and reserve fund investments
• Oversee annual audits, tax filings, and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Improve internal financial controls and best practices
• Collaborate with property managers and board members to interpret financials
• Lead and mentor an accounting/finance team
Qualifications & Skills:
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
✅ 5+ years of accounting/financial leadership experience, preferably in HOA/community association management, real estate, or property management
✅ Deep understanding of fund accounting, GAAP principles, and HOA financial structures
✅ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
✅ Experience with property management/accounting software (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi, Caliber, VMS) a plus
✅ Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of Bold Solution’s managed clients. This entails assisting Bold Solutions leadership in managing budgets, analyzing financial performance, tax compliance, and establishment of sound accounting practices. The Controller will create, maintain, and communicate the necessary financial processes to effectively manage the associations, including regular reports, balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing and other cost control systems to track financial health across the enterprise. The Controller will report to the President.

Duties
Develops and implements the association’s financial and accounting plans, policies, and procedures.
Manages input of data into the financial information systems including data entered by accounting staff and other personnel across multiple corporate entities.
Coordinates data processing and prepares detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Manages the monthly closing of books and the reconciliation/analysis of all accounts.
Prepares financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Monitor corporate and client delinquency rates and collections process for account portfolio.
Attend Board meetings per the management agreement and community events as needed.
Prepare Board packages according to established time frames.
Prepares and updates the long-range financial plan and provides accurate and timely budget forecast information to assist management in planning and decision making.
Ensures effective internal control processes and procedures are in place and followed for financial reporting.
Planning, studying, and collecting value-add data to determine costs of business activity.
Manage annual standards review and implementation.
Manage or assist with special finance projects and other duties as assigned.
Manage annual audit.
Manage tax reporting requirements.

Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) at a proficient level.
Knowledge of communities/property/real estate and homeowners associations.
Knowledge of typical business correspondence (grammar, structure, punctuation, spelling, etc.) at a proficient level.
Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.).
Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.
Time management and time critical prioritization skills.

Maintenance Technician to assist with the care of various buildings in the Vail Valley. Qualified candidates must have general knowledge of building maintenance and plowing. See below for details of job duties and responsibilities.

The position requires the ability to work independently and communicate effectively. Under the Supervisor’s direction, the essential duties of this full-time job include the day-to-day maintenance operations of the buildings and work orders from varying properties:

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Drywall, painting, carpentry, masonry, light electrical and plumbing.
• Repairing and treating structures in common areas to include siding, stucco, drywall, grounds, interior hallways, stairwells of building, as well as interior repairs of units.
• Demonstrate a “working knowledge” of Boiler & Furnace systems, make minor repairs and report bigger issues to supervisor.
• Plow experience a must. Job responsibilities will include a plow route with at least 2 properties with some hand shovel expected.
• Code enforcement for parking and other minor infraction will be performed weekly for property.
• Grounds work such as pick up, maintaining dog stations, light sweeping, raking, landscaping and snow/ice removal
• Ability to meet with various contractors and facilitate repairs and or special projects.

Candidate Requirements
• Live in Eagle County. Must be able to communicate with owners and tenants. Bilingual is a plus.
• Possess a Colorado Driver’s License and legal authorization to work in the United States.
• This position is full-time (40 hours per week) with overtime and benefits are available see below.
• Lift 75-lbs, with a willingness to work in winter and summer temperatures on varying surfaces.
• Working knowledge of hand tools and power tools. Hand tools are required, larger power tools will be provided.
• Some on-call support for emergency, after-hours repair. On call schedule includes (1) week assignments, on a (7) week rotating basis. Total of (7) weeks for the entire year.
• A can-do attitude with the ability to work with co-workers, but also able to self-manage and work independently.

Compensation and Benefits:
• $20 per hour to start, based upon work experience
• Company truck, with a clean driver’s record, and subject to insurance check.
• Paid company cell phone
• Employer contributed Health Insurance
• (2) weeks paid vacation, based on annual accrual
