Do you know how to manually release your garage door?

Knowing how to use the emergency release is important if you ever lose power and need to open or close your garage door manually. Take a minute to locate it now—you’ll be glad you did when you actually need it.

To manually release the door, pull the emergency release cord/handle down (usually red!) to disconnect the door from the opener, then lift the door by hand. Once power is restored, close the door and re-engage the opener according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
