🔊 Squeaking: Usually means your rollers, hinges, or springs need lubrication. Usually an easy fix- a little garage door lubricant (not WD-40!) goes a long way.
🔊 Grinding: Often points to worn rollers or the opener’s drive gear. Metal-on-metal grinding means something is working harder than it should and could fail soon.
🔊 Popping: A loud pop is typically a torsion spring under stress or a section of the door binding. Don’t ignore this one! A snapped spring can make the door suddenly inoperable.
🔊 Rattling: Usually loose hardware- think nuts, bolts, or brackets that need to be tightened. Simple but worth addressing before it becomes a bigger issue.
🔊 Banging: Could be an unbalanced door or a section coming off track. An unbalanced door puts extra strain on your opener and shortens its lifespan.
