Congrats to Park City Municipal Corp for the opening of the 3Kings Water Treatment Plant! The old facility resided within the golf course and was surrounded by high-end residences…Zehren was engaged to be the design architect for the new facility, and also provide the landscape architecture, interior design, and FF&E design. A shout-out to Jacobs Engineering and Alder Construction for this amazing campus, which recalls the mining heritage of Park City. The campus is Net Zero and includes PV panels, living roofs, and micro-hydro electric power.

Our team and our clients are very excited to see their custom home nearly complete at Lot 4 in Spruce Peak (Stowe), Vermont…only the artwork installation remains! Zehren provided the architectural design, the interior fixed finishes design, and the FF&E design and installation. The site was one of the most challenging sites our team has ever worked with…the home was pinned in by an existing soil nail wall supporting the switchback road on the uphill side, and a sheer stone cliff on the downhill side—the foundations are literally pinned into the bedrock. The interior design features clean lines and crisp detailing, while still presenting a richness of material and color. The furnishings reflect the fun, casual lifestyle of the clients and complement the home’s plan layout and amazing glass walls on the view side of the lot.

Congratulations are in order to the entire team for the successful grand opening of the Forest House in Caldera (Sunriver), Oregon! The Caldera homeowners can now enjoy their new fitness center, games room, duckpin bowling, indoor/ outdoor bar, 30-person hot tub, family pool, and dual water slides. The Zehren team is grateful for the rewarding experience of designing the Forest House facility, the surrounding overnight cabins, and the outdoor recreation park adjacent to the complex. The Forest House is the “big brother” to the Lake House and Fitness Facility, which were also designed by Zehren for Sunriver.

Capitol Public House is a newly-renovated restaurant with a family-style concept and an elevated American menu within the heart of Eagle, Colorado. The Zehren design team worked closely with the owner to create a classic “pub vibe...” while at the same time creating a cross between and an English pub and a western saloon. The new eatery features a rich color palette, tufted leathers, and subtle details such as nail-head trim on the dining chairs, while the stamped tin panels at the bar front add texture and interest in an understated way.

Nestled along Gore Creek between Vail’s Golden Peak base area and Ford Park, Manor Vail Lodge Renovation has been an integral part of the Vail guest experience for over 50 years. Zehren and Associates, Inc. first worked with Manor Vail 20 years ago and when it came time to upgrade their pool and restaurant spaces, we were again brought on board to provide our vision and expertise to enhance and upgrade several amenities as part of the Manor Vail Lodge Renovation.

The South Pool was completely re-envisioned, raised from its previously sunken location to provide better views, connectivity to the adjacent restaurant space and expanded deck area from what was an outdated and underperforming space. The pool was reshaped and expanded, and the hot tubs set in stone site walls and a new waterfall feature. New landscaping and fencing elevate the aesthetic appeal to create a new space that is an inviting and enjoyable place to relax sore muscles after a day on the slopes in winter, or after biking or hiking in summer.

Directly adjacent to the pool, the newly rebranded Ridge + River restaurant was expanded and updated both inside and out with a new patio that includes a fire pit and retractable canopy and new sliding doors for indoor/outdoor dining. The primary goal for the project was to update the dark, dated space and create a brighter, more modern restaurant; in addition, the selection of finishes, furniture, and lighting provides guests with a more elevated dining experience. Since this space is often used for weddings, the neutrality of the finishes was a key consideration, to allow wedding planners to coordinate with any color scheme. We worked closely with all of their related staff and management to ensure their needs and vision were met.

The Eagle Valley Land Trust has been working with Zehren and Associates Landscape Architecture team to redesign the Wildflower Barn site to provide spaces of education, gathering, and celebration. The focus was to practice sustainable landscape design while having functioning outdoor spaces for events and learning opportunities. Having an accessible water detention pond to showcase the stormwater runoff system was important for the site development as well as a key goal of the Land Trust to help educate the community. Native sustainable landscape design was key to help connect the Conservation Center with the surrounding context of the Preserve as well as highlight the native lands of Eagle County that the Land Trust is setting a part for the community.

Eagle Valley Land Trust entrusted Zehren and Associates to reimagine their new home, and in doing so transformed the existing Wildflower Barn and site by providing carefully planned and designed landscape features, gathering spaces, and viewing experiences. Part of that was to create a structure that gave guests a sweeping view of the adjacent parcel, called the Preserve. Zehren and Associates designed a 15-foot-high, multi terraced viewing platform that extended views towards the Eagle River Preserve and beyond.
