In a new report, Leander just ranked as the 4th most moved-to U.S. ZIP code in 2025!

And it’s not just Leander. Texas as a whole is on fire, claiming four of the top five spots and six of the top ten on this national list. From Austin’s thriving suburbs to fast-growing metros across the state, people are clearly making Texas their next home base.

The latest data from Unlock MLS shows that while July sales in the Austin area dipped slightly to 2,492, pending sales are up more than 15%, signaling strong activity heading into fall.

As Vaike O’Grady, research advisor at Unlock MLS, notes, “It’s typical for the summer market to slow as people focus on travel and leisure; we often see activity pick back up once school starts.”

Ranked the No. 13 Best Place to Live for Quality of Life in the U.S., ATX is the highest-scoring city in Texas, according to U.S. News & World Report’s newest list.

With standout marks for air quality, health care access, education, and nearly 20,000 acres of green space, it’s one more reminder of why so many are proud to call this city home.

It’s official: summer is serving up more homes and more choices.

In June, active listings in the Austin-Round Rock area jumped 44%, giving buyers their best shot in years to be selective. Prices held steady, and while closed sales ticked up only slightly, pending contracts are climbing, signaling that buyers are making moves - just more intentionally.

Texas summer is heating up, and after a bit of a slow spring, Austin buyers are back in action.

In May, the market saw a slight dip in closed sales from last year, but pending sales surged over 16%, hinting at growing confidence.

Experts say buyers are still cautious, but momentum is shifting.

ABoR housing economist Clare Knapp, Ph.D., said that “the notable increase in pending sales in May signals that buyer activity has picked up… [pointing] to cautious optimism as we move into the summer.”
