Jobe Corral Architects

Jobe Corral Architects JCA designs highly crafted residential and commercial spaces. Our design approach is rooted in the beauty of the site and in the experience of place.

JOBE CORRAL ARCHITECTS is a women-owned architecture firm founded by Camille Urban Jobe, AIA, and Ada I. Corral, AIA. We strive to create beautiful, well crafted spaces that are sensitive to the specific needs of each project. Through our practice, we explore and exalt ways in which people leave traces in the buildings they occupy. The thoughtful consideration of individual moments and experiences of daily life is a theme in our design that brings a warmth and texture to our projects. We work with the knowledge that a great project springs from a deep understanding of the site, a respectful and transparent relationship with our clients, and a full comprehension of the program. Paying close attention to these factors informs our process and allows us to create a unique concept and spirit for every project. We strongly believe in finding opportunities to engage and enhance the built environment and our community, both through architecture and community service.

The dining room table at the Adagio house in Carmel-by-the-Sea was designed to be considered at every scale.

From across the room, the table anchors the space as a place to gather. Up close, the live edge, joinery, material transitions, and smaller crafted details come into focus. Each perspective reveals something different, but together they shape how the piece is seen, touched, and used.

At Tarry House, reclaimed barnwood wraps the exterior, giving the new home a material connection to the history of the site.

Looking through the window, a glimpse of the original water cistern can be seen beyond the kitchen, another piece of the site’s past preserved within the new home.

Say hello to Faith!

Faith has been the BIM Specialist at JCA for four years! Her expertise keeps our models organized, our drawings coordinated, and our projects moving forward. She is a crucial resource for the team, helping us navigate everything from technical challenges to tight deadlines.

Outside the office, Faith can be found building and racing cars, sketching in a notebook, or restoring furniture with her wife.

In Texas, shade is more than a comfort but an important part of how we design for the climate.

Deep overhangs, screens, covered spaces, and filtered light provide relief from the sun while defining spaces and shaping how they are used throughout the day.

Here are a few of our favorite shading conditions across JCA projects.

The built-in banquette at the Hill Country Cabins gives guests a comfortable place to gather and share a meal.

As the guest house, details like these help the small space feel warm, welcoming and a bit more like home.

Arched openings soften the connections between living and dining at the Anselmo house. From the island, views carry through the dining room and out to the landscape beyond.

At Tarry House, a large slab of native Texas limestone sits alongside the home, bringing the material character of the surrounding Hill Country into the heart of the residence.

Left in its natural form, the stone becomes both a place to sit and an extension of what was there before.

At the River Ranch, layers of rammed earth form the backdrop for the living room.

Together, the warm wood ceilings, a copper fireplace and natural textiles, give the interior warmth and texture while connecting the home back to the landscape and the way it was built.
