Project Update | Westlake Dermatology | 📍Bastrop, TX

A closer look at the progress at Westlake Dermatology in Bastrop.

Our team is in the final stages of the project, with custom millwork, detailed stonework, specialty lighting, terrazzo flooring, and carefully selected finishes taking shape throughout the clinic.

From the exterior to the reception area and corridors, the design combines warm, natural materials with modern details to create a polished and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

We’re looking forward to seeing the finished space open its doors in Bastrop.

What’s happening in Austin’s office market and what does it mean for construction?

We took a look at the latest Q2 2026 market data and pulled out a few numbers worth watching:

🏢 23.4% — Austin office vacancy
📈 324K SF — YTD positive net absorption
🏗️ 703K SF — current construction pipeline
📉 60%+ — year-over-year decrease in the construction pipeline

While vacancy remains elevated, there are also signs of gradual stabilization. Positive absorption, improving demand and a more limited construction pipeline point to a market that is becoming increasingly selective and measured.

For builders, developers and owners, these shifts matter. Understanding the market helps inform decisions around where to build, what to build and how to approach existing space.

Austin’s commercial market continues to evolve, and we’re optimistic about the opportunities ahead for thoughtful, well-planned construction.

Before you see the building, you have to build what’s underneath it.

Progress at our Pflugerville Medical Center project is taking shape from the ground up. Right now, the site is focused on one of the most important phases of construction: the foundation.

Excavation comes first. Then comes the reinforcement. Miles of rebar carefully placed throughout footings and foundation walls to provide the structural strength the building will rely on for years to come.

It may not be the most visible part of the project once the building is complete, but it’s one of the most important.

Every elevation, every footing, every piece of reinforcement and every connection has a purpose. Getting these details right now sets the foundation for everything that comes next.

The best buildings don’t just start above ground. They start with what’s underneath. We’re excited to watch this one continue to take shape.

Safety Starts Before the Work Begins. 🦺

At E+S Builders, we’ve been putting an increased focus on strengthening our safety program and creating a safer, more proactive jobsite culture.

One part of that program is our Safety Orientation. Everyone working on our jobsites completes the orientation before getting to work. Once completed, they receive a safety sticker for their hardhat.

It may be a small sticker, but it represents an important part of how we approach our jobsites: safety is everyone’s responsibility. We’re committed to strengthening our safety culture and creating an environment where our team and trade partners look out for one another.
