Ascension Cardiovascular Clinic – Highland Lakes provides specialized cardiovascular care for patients throughout Burnet and the surrounding Hill Country. Designed by Polkinghorn Group Architects, the clinic includes eight exam rooms, dedicated nuclear imaging, vascular, and echocardiography suites, and thoughtfully planned support spaces that promote efficient patient care and staff workflow.

Inspired by the Texas Hill Country, the design incorporates native limestone and dark bronze accents on the exterior, while stone and warm wood finishes throughout the interior create a modern healthcare environment that is both welcoming and comfortable for patients, families, and staff.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with +S Construction on the 9,500 square-foot Sharp Surgery Center.

The facility features four operating rooms, four pre-op patient bays, six post-anesthesia care (PACU) patient bays, along with the clinical support spaces necessary to provide efficient, high-quality outpatient care. Designed to support plastic, cosmetic, and orthopedic procedures, the center balances operational efficiency with a welcoming patient experience through clean, contemporary finishes and thoughtfully planned spaces.

A special thank you to Brooke Elia with International. Brooke went above and beyond providing beautiful furnishings pictured in the reception area. Additionally, I want to thank Stephanie Sharma for the beautiful interior design and Lindsay Works, Project Principal and Tom Mconnell .net for the beautiful photography work.

Each May, Polkinghorn Group Architects hosts one of our favorite traditions — the PGA Crawfish Boil.

What began 21 years ago as a small gathering has grown into our largest annual event, welcoming nearly 300 clients, contractors, consultants, and friends of the firm.

This year we cooked nearly 1,000 pounds of crawfish with potatoes, corn, mushrooms, and andouille sausage. One of the highlights is crawfish pies, prepared by my sister Gale. She fry’s around 600 every year, and they disappear fast!

The Boil is especially meaningful to me because it celebrates my Louisiana roots. My family still does all the cooking using our parents' recipe, making it a true family tradition.

Another annual highlight is the incredible dessert table prepared by Eileen Barden, featuring beautiful cookies, King Cakes complete with babies, cake pops, and many other treats.

As much as everyone enjoys the food, the real purpose of the Crawfish Boil is to bring together the people we've had the privilege of working with over the years. Spending an evening with our clients, contractors, consultants, and industry friends is what makes this event so special. We truly appreciate the friendships and professional relationships we've built and look forward to many more years of gathering around the boil. 🦞

Twenty years ago, Polkinghorn Group Architects (PGA) designed the original Wellness Center for Lavaca Medical Center in Hallettsville, Texas.

Since then, they've outgrown the facility—a great problem to have! We recently celebrated the groundbreaking for a new addition that will significantly expand and enhance their operations.

There is no greater compliment than a client who trusts us again decades later. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue partnering with Lavaca Medical Center and are proud to be part of their continued growth.

What an incredible evening at Knock Out Night! 🥊

The Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) truly knocked it out of the park again this year. This event is one we look forward to all year long, and it never disappoints.

It was such a fun night spent with friends, clients, and colleagues from across Austin’s real estate, Business Development and AEC community.

Thank you to RECA for hosting such a fantastic event. We’re already counting down to next year!
