This Saturday our team celebrated the Grand Opening of ’s The Confluence! This new stretch of Waterloo Greenway connects Lady Bird Lake up to 4th St with fully accessible trail along Waller Creek. In addition to new trails and site connections, it has repaired the natural creek habitat and supports biodiversity in downtown Austin!

Our team enjoyed a private tour at ’s next phase The Confluence! The Confluence will provide 13 acres of green space in downtown Austin, restoring the ecological diversity of Waller Creek (including planting 200,000 plants and 1,600 trees!) and providing new pedestrian and bicycle connectivity. We are excited for the Grand Opening on June 6! Thank you to and for hosting us.

Black + Motal staff celebrated a milestone this weekend with the grand opening of the new Wishbone Bridge and Unity Tunnel (connecting the Butler hike and bike trail to Roy Guerrero Park). The bridge completes the full 10-mile loop of Austin’s hike and bike trail around Lady Bird Lake. The bridge and tunnel together realize part of our long-standing vision, outlined in our 1976 Austin Creeks Book, to create continuous people-oriented spaces away from traffic, where folks can enjoy our stunning natural landscapes.
