Supporting the Skilled Trades with Skillpoint Alliance

Our team recently had the opportunity to attend a Skillpoint Alliance event alongside fellow sponsors, partners, and organizations supporting their mission to connect people with careers in the skilled trades.

We were especially honored to receive the Outstanding Skilled Trades Mentor Award during the event!

Chris Hudson, Assistant Project Manager, works closely with Skillpoint Alliance and helps support their efforts to introduce people to opportunities in the skilled trades and help build the next generation of skilled professionals.

Congratulations to Matthew Drummond for Earning His Journeyman License!

Matthew’s Journeyman Electrician Journey:

Matthew’s electrical career began after he was honorably discharged from the Navy in April 2013. He then took a job working in the electrical warehouse at Guardian Industrial Supply, where he eventually met Eric Peralez from Centex IEC while Eric was picking up parts for their labs.

Years later, in August 2022, Matthew reached back out to Eric, who encouraged him to apply at Beckett Electrical Services. Matthew joined the Beckett team, enrolled in Centex IEC, and continued building his skills and experience in the electrical trade.

After several years of hard work, learning, and dedication, Matthew officially earned his Journeyman license!

We’re proud of Matthew and all the work he put into reaching this milestone. Congratulations on earning your Journeyman license, Matthew! We’re excited to see what the next chapter of your career holds. ⚡

Congratulations to Cian Blake for Earning His Journeyman License!

Cian's Journeyman Electrician Journey:

Cian’s electrical career began at Leander High School, where Ronny Williams lured him into his class with the promise of a good job after graduation that could become a lifelong career.

Following graduation, Cian joined Beckett Electrical Services after receiving a call from Jesse Beckett. Over the past three years, Cian has worked hard to grow his skills and develop as an electrician, joking that Beckett helped “break and mold” him into a better electrician along the way.

After three years of learning, experience, and plenty of hard work, Cian completed his journey into a Journeyman!

We’re proud of Cian and all the work he put into reaching this milestone. Congratulations on earning your Journeyman license, Cian! We’re excited to see what the next chapter of your career holds. ⚡

Matthew's Journeyman Electrician Journey:
Matthew began his electrical career in February 2022, starting out in residential electrical work before making the transition to commercial electrical.

Since joining Beckett Electrical Services, Matthew has continued to develop his skills and grow as an electrician. His hard work and dedication have helped him reach this important milestone, and we’re excited to see what’s next as he looks forward to running jobs and continuing to grow in his career.

Congratulations to Ralph Woods for Earning His Masters License!

Ralph’s Master Electrician Journey:

When I first started in the electrical trade, I didn’t realize how rewarding and promising this career would become. Staying committed and continuing to develop my skills has truly paid off, and I’m proud to have reached the milestone of becoming a Master Electrician.

I’m grateful for the Master Electricians I’ve worked with throughout my career who inspired me and helped push me toward this achievement. I’m also thankful for my family and coworkers for their constant encouragement and support.

I’m proud of this milestone, but I know there is always more to learn. I’m excited to continue growing, sharing my knowledge, and remaining humble throughout the journey. This trade has shown me that college isn’t the only path to a successful career, and I’m proud of the path I chose.

Congratulations to Ralph on earning his Master Electrician license! We’re proud to have you on the Beckett team and excited to see what’s ahead.

🦺 Safe + Sound Week 2026 🦺

This week, we’re recognizing OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week and putting a spotlight on what it takes to keep our workplaces safe every day.

At Beckett, safety is more than a yearly reminder — it’s something we all play a part in. From strong leadership and employee participation to identifying and addressing hazards, creating a safe workplace starts with everyone looking out for one another.

Today, we’re proud to recognize Vincent Olivas on earning his Journeyman license! After years of feeling burnt out working in retail, Vincent took a chance on himself and reached out to Skillpoint to begin a new career in the electrical trade. From starting the program and completing his training to joining Beckett Electrical in August 2022, Vincent has continued to grow and build his skills in the electrical industry.

Since joining Beckett, Vincent has continued learning on the job and working toward the next step in his career. Now, as a Journeyman, he’s ready to keep learning, take on new challenges, and eventually work toward earning his Master Electrician license.

Congratulations, Vincent, on this well-earned achievement! We’re proud to have you on the Beckett team and excited to see where your career takes you!
