Recently we visited Kaua‘i and explored the island from the lush north shore to beautiful Wailua Falls to the Hanapepe Valley on the sunny southern coast. We can’t wait to go back to the “Garden Isle”!

Happy Spring and Texas Wildflower Day - two things we always love celebrating!

We recently came across a beautiful range of color variations in Prairie Paintbrush (Castilleja purpurea) on a ranch in Brown County, and it’s a reminder of just how dynamic and expressive our native landscapes can be.

This is our favorite time of year in Central Texas, when the land really shows off! We hope you have a chance to get outside and enjoy the fruits of all the rain we’ve been lucky to receive lately.

We snuck off to cooler temps one last time before the Texas summer sets in, trading limestone and heat for granite, water and salt air at Acadia National Park.

We spent a day around Jordan Pond and The Bubbles, moving through stretches of trail carefully restored with timber cribbing to manage erosion.

We finished at Thunder Hole, where the power of the Atlantic Ocean was on full display, shaping the landscape in real time.

We’re always inspired by places that balance public access and preservation so well!

We were thrilled to win the award for General Excellence in Landscape Design last night at the 2026 Home & Design Awards! Thank you to Austin Home Magazine for this incredible recognition of our work.

We had such a great time celebrating with the friends and inspiring group of collaborators who make Austin’s design and construction industry so exceptional! It was a fun evening dedicated to recognizing the effort and art that goes into creating thoughtful, well-crafted spaces.

Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners, and cheers to a community that continues to value superior design, strong partnerships and the details that make a project truly special.

Over the last few years, we’ve been proud to support The Garden Conservancy as the volunteer Regional Ambassador for Travis County, following in the footsteps of previous ambassadors including James David, Patrick Kirwin and Casey Boyter. It has been a meaningful way for us to help share and celebrate the exceptional gardens of our region.

We’re excited to pass the ambassadorship to our colleagues at Spencer Landscape Co, led by Billy Spencer! Billy and his team will continue the rewarding work of connecting our vibrant local community with inspiring garden spaces and supporting the mission of The Garden Conservancy.

Recently we attended a Community Tree Planting Day at Roy Guerrero Metropolitan Park.

It was a beautiful morning spent learning about the fascinating role of the soil microbiome in supporting healthy trees - work that helps build a resilient urban forest suited to our region’s unique conditions.

We enjoyed supporting an Austin Parks and Recreation Department park we’ve visited for years, while helping give young trees the best start in our challenging Texas climate.

A Journey Through Kutch

Recently we visited Kutch, an arid region of Gujarat in northwestern India. Kutch has a rich history of textile artistry: in Bhujodi we met expert weavers who craft indigo dye using traditional methods and all-natural materials. In the village of Nirona we visited a family who are the last remaining artisans practicing Rogan art, which are intricately hand-painted fabrics.

In Hodkaa we stayed in a Bhunga, a circular mud hut native to the area. From there, we journeyed at sunset across the Great Rann of Kutch, a giant salt marsh that was still covered in water from the seasonal rains.

We arrived at Dholavira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an ancient city of the Harappan, dating back 5,000 years. There we discovered fascinating water conservation techniques and engineering that allowed this Indus Valley civilization to thrive in the salt desert environment.

Then we sped through fields of dragonfruit, pomegranates and date palms to the beach at the port city of Mandvi, where we explored the Vijay Vilas Palace.

Back in the capital of Bhuj, we visited the Swaminarayan Temple and The Chhatardi, or The Cenotaphs of Kings, built of sandstone in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and famed for their intricate craftsmanship.

We ended our journey to India by heading to Mumbai to celebrate a wedding with family and friends. What an amazing experience and trip through a unique part of the world!
